It is with heavy hearts that the family announces that Joan McConnell passed away Friday evening, September 13, 2024 at the Grove Nursing Home in Arnprior surrounded by family and love. She was 92 years young. Beloved wife of the late Donald McConnell (1986). Proud and loving mother of Donna Nych (Steve) of Arnprior, Robert McConnell of Barrie, Kelsie Habecker (Jack), Connie Milne (Terry), Lana Grenier (Jim) all of Arnprior and Jim McConnell (Bonnie) of Stittsville. Most cherished grandmother of Sean (Mandy McIlquham), Kelly (Shannon Lebrun), Erin (Dan Trtik), Jessie, Sarah (Ron Maddocks), Cory (Amy Gahan), Ashleigh (Gordon Corvers), Amanda (Jeff Dawson), Amy (Maddie Gordon), Breanne (Taylor Jones), Jordan and Michaela. Great-grandmother of Hanah, Hudson, Nolan, Wesley, Levi, RJ, Emery and step great-grandmother to Karlee Lebrun. Dear sister of Beth Deveaux (Bernard) of Arnprior. Special aunt to Sherri Johnston (Jean- Luc Martin). Will be remembered by Erika Habecker. Joan was an active member of her community, involved in the Lionettes, Order of the Eastern Star, and the ACW of Emmanuel Anglican Church. Known for her strong will, sharp sense of humor, and generous heart, she had a deep love for her family and friends. She enjoyed driving, checking in on loved ones, and always shared her talents, whether it was making a delicious meal or bringing laughter to a room. Joan was a dedicated employee of Playtex, where she proudly worked until her retirement. Her warmth, kindness, and sharp mind will be missed by all who knew her. Joan’s arrangements have been entrusted to the Boyce Funeral Home Ltd., 138 Daniel Street N., Arnprior where visitation will be held Wednesday September 18, 2024 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and Thursday morning from 9:30 -10:00 a.m. The Funeral Service will be held Thursday September 19, 2024 at the Emmanuel Anglican Church, Arnprior at 11:00 a.m. Reception to follow at the Carleton Reid Hall.  Interment at Arnprior Malloch Road Cemetery. The Arnprior Lionettes will gather for a service on Wednesday evening at 6:45 p.m., followed by an Order of the Eastern Star ceremony. In memory of Joan, a donation may be made to the Shriners Children’s Hospital or a charity of your choice.
