Obituary of Dudley Fraser

Dudley A. Fraser of Waterloo, Quebec, passed away on Saturday, February 4, 2023, at the age of 82, due to a sudden illness at Sherbrooke Hospital. Former husband of Elizabeth Slingerland and the father of six children: Kathy (late Dan), Dan (Wendy), Robert (predeceased), David (Angela), Patricia (Ronald), and James. Stepfather to Sandy, Kathy and Nancy and partner and best friend of Margaret Blake. Grandfather to Wade (Cassie), Kyle (Bailey) and Rachel. Great-grandfather of Kayden. Dudley was a retired member of the Nepean Police Force and an active Mason, holding various leadership positions in lodges in Ottawa and Quebec. His roles included - Past Master Mason of St. Andrew’s Lodge, Ottawa, Life Member of Renfrew Lodge, Past Deputy Grand Master of Quebec, Member and Secretary of Sheffield, and Stanstead Lodges, Affirmed 33 Degree and member of Royal Arch. He also served as a Cub Scout Leader for 35 years in Renfrew and Ottawa. Private family services are currently being held. A Masonic Service will be held in honour of Dudley at the Boyce Funeral Home Ltd., 138 Daniel Street North, Arnprior on Friday, February 10th, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. followed by a reception/gathering at the Boyce Reception Centre. All members of the Masonic community are invited to attend and pay their respects. Dudley will be laid to rest in the spring at Thompson Hill Cemetery in Renfrew beside his late mother and father Roderick and Dorothy (Wade) Fraser. Donations in Dudley’s memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
