I joined the Corps with Carl back in 1979. He was a solid person and crewman. I knew him and Pam for many years and she was certainly the rock of their family-when they were together on social outings at the mess or sports events, Carl was always on his best behaviour when Pam was there. Sorry for the loss and Rest in Peace Carl.

To Pam and the family , I am deeply sorry and sad about your loss. Carl and I go back a long ways . I just talked with him last week so this news came as a quite shock. To all the people whom read this, we were blessed to know this gentle giant. I pick my friends based upon the fact that they will outlive me, hence, I dont have to go through the trouble of grieving a loss. Yes, Im selfish, , LOL. Carl would laugh at that. LOL, He laughed at me a lot, I loved that about him will miss that, I am sure, that Im not the only one with a ton of great stories to tell of the antics and shenanigans that he, we got into over the years. He was a good friend to me. I will miss him deeply. The world could use a few more like Carl. Till we meet again Carl

To Pam and the family.
We have lost a magnificent man in all our lives. Carl was a great friend a great boss and a hell of a soldier. I watched him in the early years with his kids and recognized him as a good DAD, as domonstrated by the number of people on this list it is highly evident that Carl was as highly repected as well as liked.
RIP old friend

I worked for/ with Carl in C Sqn RCD Adm Troop. A great memory of mine is playing Broomball during our Christmas NCO sports day. I never played before and thought how hard can it be. Carl, being twice my size could manouver very well on the ice. I remember running up ice with Carl behind me saying "I"m going to get you". Whe n he did catch me, he took me down gracefully. He knew I wasn't a skilled player so he took it easy on me. RIP Carl, all my best to the Cox family.

Served with Carl in Bosnia.
Even though he was our Boss he equally suffered with us during our infantry pretraining.
Great guy who projected a strong presence wherever he went.
Special praise for his impertiuable nature.
Treated all of us with respect and as an equal.
Great NCO, full of positivity and confidence.
I remember him and Billy Power when they did 3 beer runs in his "Deuce 'n half" to our OP. Driving up and down that mountain goat path to bring us 24s of Heineken for a BBQ.
He brought the sunshine that day.
Nobody could ask for better.

My condolences to the family and anyone that knew Carl knew a man that was one of the best of us. He will be very much missed. In times like this one never knows what to say or how to say it as words are often inadequate for moments like this. They say that in time you will come to accept the weight of loss. You become not immune to that loss, just strong enough to carry it. Rest in Peace my friend. As for the stories and adventures Carl and I share, there are many from the early 1980's. He had to be one of the funniest people I have ever known, and he always had a good word to say to you at some of the most difficult of times. Until Valhalla my friend!

Carl was taken from us far too soon and far too unexpectedly. He was a man that I had great respect for and had the great pleasure of calling family.
I have many memories of Carl over the years, having known him my entire life, there are almost too many to talk about. And yet I enjoy remembering every single one of them.
From filling out his number on my emergency contact forms, to him letting me help make holiday dinners and manning the bbq.
The summer days we spend in the pool, the family dinners and Sunday night football.
Carl helped me get my first job in a tractor yard, he then went on to give me advice on all the adventures I wish to pursue within the trades, he was always someone to call for help.
We shared a love for the Boston Bruins and even ended up with matching baseball caps.
One year he even gave up one of his own hockey cards for my birthday.
Carl filled the room with a comforting presence. Loudly, he always filled it with laughter and the blare of the TV.
I don't think I even thanked him enough for all he did, but I do like to think he knew.
He was loved by many of us and will always be missed.

I love my brother. I knew very little of his years served in the forces. I'm grateful for all the photos and stories of our brother. I remember him as an annoying larger than life brother that tormented his sisters but also loved and protected us too. No one ever picked on me once they knew Carl was my brother. I never thanked you for that. I never thanked you for always tightening my laces on my skates, or gutting my fish at Lake Ainslie, or cleaning my oven when you would visit in Halifax. I love my brother Gone too soon. Wherever you are, hug mom for me. Lisa~

To Mrs. Pam Cox and family,
Please accept my deepest and sincere condolences on your loss. I was and am proud to stated that served with, alongside and for Carl as member of the Royal Canadian Dragoons. There is an old say "Those who touch our lives, stay in our hearts forever" I can say quite proudly that I had the privilege of knowing Carl and that he did leave a lasting impression, even though it has been some 21 years since worked for Carl in the Regimental Headquarters, of the Royal Canadian Dragoons. Mrs. Cox and family if I may I would like say "With the going down of the sun and in the morning we will remember them".
God bless you and your family through this most difficult time.

I soldiered with Carl both in C Squadron and the Regiment but my enduring memory was in C Squadron where he was a very proud Sergeant tank commander. We had a fun day in the field that was individual tank on tank - no holds barred - and I matched up against Carl. He was a great crew commander, but my aim was to ambush him just once! After losing my tank several times, I finally got him just the once. Never forget the look on his face - losing even one instance to an officer! Made my entire year! Pam and Carl were great team members and he will be sorely missed. Marnie & I send our sincere condolences to Pam and family.

Heather, Lisa and families: I am very sad to read of your brother Carl’s passing. Our parents were great friends since we were all very young and we always got to see you all as we got older as our parents would get together whether you were all camping down in the valley or we met up with you all elsewhere. We even stayed in touch after my dad passed then Ed passed a few years later and now many years later our mom’s have passed and now Carl. Please know I am thinking about you in this most difficult time, I totally get the grief with my mom only passing 2 months ago.
