October 14, 1929 – July 10, 2022 (Lifelong Local Farmer) (Needham’s Market Garden) (Member of the Order of St. John) Marvin passed away peacefully at the Grove Nursing Home in Arnprior, Sunday morning, July 10, 2022. Marvin Lyons Needham of Ottawa Road, Highway 29, Arnprior at the age of 92. Beloved husband of the late Ada Needham (nee Thompson) (2000). Proud father of Glenn, Cathy (Lindsay Stalwick) and Cheryl. Dear brother of David (Mary), Cora Lethbridge (late George), Margaret Dixon (Robert) and Mavis Tiencamp (late Bert). Predeceased by brothers Garland (Anna), Edward and George. Son of the late William and Emma (Lyons) Needham. Marvin was a life-long farmer having grown up on the generational family farm. In the spring he could always be found at his Maple Sugar Bush and well into his 80’s was still active cutting down trees and riding his garden tractor through the fields. Although Marvin was a lifelong farmer, he also enjoyed holding different job positions over the years at Kenwood Mills, Square D, Travelaire and Jeffrey Luggage. He was honoured to receive the Member of the Order of St. John in 1994 from the Governor General for his many years volunteer service with the St. John Ambulance. He will be remembered for his dedication and service to enhance the well being of others and will be missed by many. Visitations at the Boyce Funeral Home Ltd., 138 Daniel Street North, Arnprior on Friday July 15, 2022 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. and again Saturday morning from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Funeral Service to take place at St. Andrew’s United Church in Pakenham Saturday at 11:00 a.m. Luncheon will follow in the church hall. Cremation to follow. Interment St. Mark’s Cemetery, Pakenham at a later date. In memoriam donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the Canadian Cancer Society.
