I have just learned of Harold’s passing from reading his obituary in the December 23rd edition of the Chronicle-Guide. I am deeply saddened that I was unaware and thus unable to attend his memorial and service. I will always have the fondest memories of Harold and his wonderful wife Margaret. It is fitting that they will be reunited in God’s kingdom at this blessed and holy season. As a couple, they exemplified genuine love, humility and kindness, not only to each other but to their deep Christian faith and their Lord. I will miss your soft laugh my dear friend and our many talks about your days on the farm. May you rest in eternal peace and watch over your beloved family and friends in whose hearts you will forever remain as an example to all of us how to live and to love. My heartfelt and sincere condolences to his family and many friends.

I will always remember Uncle Harold and Aunt Margaret’s farm with the Higginson name on the barn.....their perfect looking garden and the lawn that was always cut to perfection......if there was a Church Social going on they were always there to add their support ......if there was a dance in the area you would always find them on the dance floor.

My sympathy to the Higginson Family. Harold was a true gentleman. I had the pleasure of visiting with him on the many visits to our farm while he was on the job. We kept in touch after his retirement. We shared the same taste in music and he could write a letter with great finesse. It will be Christmas in heaven for him and the love of his life.

Sheldon,
I'm so sad to hear of your Dad's passing. I loved having chats with him when we were younger. He always had time to talk with us. He was so kind, thoughtful and soft spoken. And as we found out at your wedding, he had and incredible sense of humor.
He will be missed, not only by his family, but everyone who knew him. It is so nice though, to know that he is finally back together with your Mom. The two of them were like two pea's in a pod!
Hugs Sheldon, Imelda, Tannis and Brennan!

Dear Marilyn and family, John and I are saddened to hear of Harold’s passing. We have fond memories of both your mom and dad at Emmanuel church and at church suppers as Harold was always knowledgeable about where the suppers were held and the best ones to attend! He and I counted the collections on Sundays and I always was so impressed with his astute counting practices. He was the best of any computer! We will miss him. Our condolences to you and your siblings. Joan & John Wahay.

Dear Marilyn and the Higginson family. We were so very sad to hear of Harold's passing. I'm sure he's been reunited with the love of his life. I know he missed her dearly. I met him when I started working at EBI and we became friends immediately. For the past 39 years, we've traded stories, mishaps and little tidbits about our lives and families. I will miss his holiday cards and letters. Harold loved his family and friends with all his heart. He was always happy and kind, a little social butterfly who loved going to various church suppers in the area, services at church and dances over the years. Please know that you are in our thoughts.

Dear Higginson family, You likely do not remember me, but I remember your mom and dad with such fond memories. When Harold would come to the farm, he always made time to chat with us kids and always seemed interested in what we were doing. It has been many years since I saw them, but they are very much a part of my childhood memories - from SS#1 Fitzroy school functions or community gatherings, they were always there, and so friendly and welcoming. Know that my thoughts and prayers are with all of you. It is so difficult to lose your parents but I really hope that the memories you and others have and will share, will bring you comfort and peace. Janice (Phillips) Buck

Dear Family
So very sorry to hear of Harold’s passing but so very honoured to have known him and Margaret. They would be very welcomed faces at our outdoor services in Waba and always good conversation and a great story. Once when he and my husband shared a room at hospital he told us about getting out soon so he could go skating. He was hoping to go to Rideau Canal. He lit up when he told us!

Mike & I want to express our deepest sympathy to Delwood & Betty, Dale & Carol, Marilyn & Chuck and Sheldon & Imelda & their families on the passing of Uncle Harold. Remembering all the visits they made after church on Sunday to my mom in the Villa & numerous other shut ins from their community. They alway always made time to visit, often bringing a bottle of citrons or pickles of some sort from their bountiful vegetable garden. Giving so much to their church, community & friends was their way of life. Such a generous pair! Uncle Harold's sense of humour was one of his greatest qualities. We will miss him but glad he will spend Christmas with Aunt Margaret. Happy to be Home. A life well lived.

Our Dear friend Harold has passed on and will be united with his beloved wife, Margaret. Donna and I met them at Emmanuel when we moved to Arnprior 25+ years ago. One of the things we had in common was that Donna and I were raised on a farm. Summer nights we went to Scoops for an ice cream cone and in the fall went to Mt St Patrick's annual church supper. There were numerous places including Rideau Carleton for the buffet. And the annual feed of corn from their bountiful garden.
Donna and I visited him in the hospital and on my(Garry) visit what did we talk about but farming LOL. He will be sorely missed in the farming community, his church and most of all by his loving family.
We will really miss him. Rest easy Harold in the arms of the Lord. Our Deepest Sympathy to the family. God Bless+
