Deepest Sympathy to the family, especially Helen, Aubrey and William, the ones we knew along with Owen, from the days at Corona Gymnastics Club. Many years later it was at the Chats Lake Boat Club where we met again. Owen's presence was valued wherever he was. He will be deeply missed by many.

I worked with and for Owen for more than 15 years. Every day with Owen was interesting. His insight, knowledge and helpfulness were beyond comparison.
Amongst many other attributes, Owen was persistent in the pursuit of excellence. Whether it was anything to do with nylon fibre, archery, sailing, building Lotus', water colours or golf, Owen was diligent in his efforts to be the best he could be. Usually that meant being better than many others!
Unique and "One of a kind" do not begin to describe Owen.
It was both an honour and privilege to know Owen. He was an amazing mentor and even better friend. I will miss him.

I had the pleasure of working with Owen for 34 years in Arnprior. At work he was dedicated, brilliant, creative, wise and very funny. He could & would entertain a crowd..As an example,at an industry convention when our largest competitor had hired a country band that did not show up, but the BASF boys from Arnprior leaped into the breach. With Owen on a wash tub bass and another Arnprior executive on the spoons they proved again the depth of talent in Arnprior.
Owen's story telling ability is legendary. Who can forget the pet whale story as an example?

Hi Helen,
It has been a number of years since we sailed with and against Owen. First it was racing Enterprise Dinghies. Owen built a beautiful one, varnished and very fast. He showed us you could be a competitive sailor by reading all the books of the time. Whether it was at Lac Memphremagog where we all camped at the Wallace cottage or Sudbury where we turned the Yacht Club grounds into a camp ground it was fun. Then it was the 5o5 sailboat. That was hot boat and Owen's boat is still being sailed by John Bryant and Ron Hughes.
But our adventures with Owen were more than sailing. Owen was a key person in the Ottawa Valley Textile Assn. Owen was a key cog which kept that organization running while Marg also got involved as a textile Chemist at the Customs & Excise Lab. Reading Owen's obit we realized what an accomplished but modest person he was. He never focussed attention on himself. It has been an honor to know him.

Owen was an admired older cousin . Mum and aunt Helen were not only sisters but best friends and so I spent many occasions in the company of Owen / Joan and Roy. Many fond memories .
My sincere heartfelt condolences to Helen and family and Roy and Dorothy.
I know how you enjoyed Owens summer visits and I was so pleased to be able to visit on one of those occasions .
I will remember his stories and his laugh . He so reminded me of my uncle John and aunt Helen . He was a real mixture of my favourite people .
Take care
Bonny
