Shirreff, John Robert May 21, 1928—August 2, 2006 RCMP Civilian Member-Retired Bob passed away peacefully with his wife and family by his side at the Queensway Carleton Hospital, of heart failure, on Wednesday August 2 in his 79th year Much beloved husband of Georgina (Nee Cameron) for fifty five wonderful years Dearly loved father of George and his wife Helene (Nee Bruneau); Geoffrey and his wife Suzanne (nee Lanthier) and John Gramps will be greatly missed by his grandchildren Candice and Harrison and by Harrison’s mother Jody Evans of Toronto Cherished brother of Grace, wife of the late Jack Cook of Ottawa; Ruth, wife of the late Angelo “Gerry” Guidice, New Jersey USA; and Betty Ann Brother in law to Christopher Woodward of Toronto He is predeceased by his oldest sister Ethel, wife of the late Ted Dupont; and by his parents the late John Miriam Shirreff and Caroline (nee Kohler) Bob was also blessed by many wonderful nephews and nieces He was dog’s best friend to Charlie Those who knew him as a friend and neighbour will remember him for his warmth, humour and love of history (President of Fitzroy Township Historical Society) especially the community of Fitzroy Harbour, the home of his family since its founding by Charles Shirreff in the early 1820s Resting at The Boyce Funeral Home Ltd. Chapel, Visitation and Reception Centre 138 Daniel Street N. Arnprior VISITATIONS Friday 2-4 p.m., 7-9 p.m. and after 9:30 a.m. Saturday August 5, 2006 FUNERAL SERVICE St. Andrew’s United Church, 184 Carleton Street, Fitzroy Harbour 11:00 a.m INTERMENT Whyte's Cemetery, Fitzroy Harbour DONATIONS St. Andrew's united church would be appreciated by the family. FELLOWSHIP & REFRESHMENT Following the burial service at Whyte’s Cemetery, there will be a reception at The Fitzroy Harbour Community Centre 100 Clifford Campbell Street, Fitzroy Harbour Many thanks to Dr. Alikhan and the wonderful nurses of the 3rd floor ICU unit, Queensway Carleton Hospital Very special thanks go to Dr Gregory Bociek for both his professional execellence, personal support and the enduring friendship of his entire family Final thanks to Jack and Mary Lougheed whose unwavering faith and friendship has helped this family through its darkest hour
