Obituary of Jessie Fraser Greer

Greer, Jessie Fraser (Chatterton) nee Armstrong Aug 18, 1911 - Aug 29, 2005 peacefully in her sleep during the early hours of Monday August 29, 2005 at The Grove (Arnprior and District Nursing Home), her residence for the past 18 months. She was born and lived most of her life in or near Saint John New Brunswick, but during the past 6 years she lived with her son and family and at The Grove in Arnprior Ontario. She had just celebrated her 94th birthday on August 18th. Born at Gardiner's Creek, St John County, N.B. the daughter of James and Louisa (Davidson) Armstrong, she was predeceased by both her first husband Murray F. Chatterton and her second husband, Hartley N. Greer. She is survived by one son, Eugene F. Chatterton and his wife Dorothy Hyacinth of Arnprior. She will also be sadly missed by her grandaughters, Liane (Dwayne), Kristi (Nick) and Andrea (Antoine), as well as great grandchildren, Kimiko, Asha, Kira, Quinn, Sitoé and Niella. Also left to mourn are her sisters Myrtle (Stirling) of Moncton N.B. and Elizabeth (Gibson) of Toronto. She was predeceased by brothers William, Herbert, Harry, Allison, Roscoe, Raymond and Edward Armstrong and sisters Frances (Weston), Helen (Piers), Hazel (Stanley), Catherine(McCormick) and Laura (Hutchins). She leaves behind many nieces and nephews from coast to coast in Canada. For many years she worked at The Saint John General Hospital until her retirement. She was also employed with the dining and banquet services of the Admiral Beatty Hotel in Saint John. There will be no visitation or service in Arnprior. The body will be cremated and returned to New Brunswick for services and burial. The family will announce details when arrangements have been finalized. In lieu of flowers donations to The Grove Nursing Home, 275 Ida Street N. Arnprior K7S 3M7 or St Thomas Anglican Church in Black River N. B. would be appreciated by the family.
