Obituary of Muriel Marion Letitia Holm

(nee Hollingworth) December 13, 1914-August 16, 2004 R.N. (retired) Graduate of Ottawa Civic Hospital, Class of '39 February 2, 1922-July 25, 2004 Passed away Monday evening in the Arnprior and District Memorial Hospital, at the age of 89, in the arms of her extended family whom she loved so much, predeceased by her husband, Urban "Dick" Holm and sister Helen (late Allan) McGregor, she is survived by sisters. Doris (late Alan) Campbell and Jean Hollingworth and brother Don, she is dreadfully missed by her many nieces and nephews, especially her great nephew and nieces, Devon, Jenny and Tess Campbell with whom she resided. Muriel lived in Cape Breton for many years where she taught nursing at the Sydney Hospital School of Nursing from 1950 until 1980. Following the death of her husband, Muriel moved back to Arnprior to be with her family. Since '97, she lived her life in happiness with her sisters, nephew Craig (Julie) and most importantly the three children. What the children gained from her is absolutely invaluable. With her caring attitude, quiet dignity, encouragement and support, their lives have been immeasurably enriched. Muriel was a duel member of The Order of Eastern Star, Cape Breton Chapter # 12, Glace Bay, Nova Scotia and Arnprior Chapter # 211 and a member of Emmanuel Anglican Church. Resting at The Boyce Funeral Home, Chapel, Visitation and Reception Centre 138 Daniel St. N., Arnprior where friends may pay their respects on Friday August 20, 2004 from 1-2 p .m. with funeral service in The Boyce Chapel at 2: p.m., Rev Linda Hill officiating, interment Renfrew Public Cemetery "Thompsonhill" following the funeral service, in memoriams to the charity of one's choice would be appreciated by her family, Eastern Star Service Friday at 12:45 pm prior to visitations.
