Shirley Ruby Carmichael

(nee Norton)

October 1, 1934 – December 30, 2024

With sadness the family announces that Shirley Carmichael passed away peacefully on Monday December 30, 2024 after a brief hospitalization and complications arising from a fall. Shirley Ruby Carmichael of Arnprior at the age of 90. Beloved wife of the late Daryle Carmichael (Dec. 2, 2011). Predeceased by brother Robert Norton (Marilyn), brothers-in-law Howard Carmichael (late Doreen), John Carmichael (late Lavina) and sisters-in-law Mary Proulx (late Charles) and Eileen Gordon (late Jack). Lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. Daughter of the late Charlie and Florence (Dowthwaite) Norton. Shirley was a dedicated community member, known for her 21 years of volunteering with the Arnprior Hospital Auxiliary and her contributions at the Opportunity Shop. Her passion for lawn bowling shone through her active involvement at the Galetta Lawn Bowling Club, where she volunteered her time alongside her husband, Daryle. As a devoted member of St. Thomas Anglican Church in Woodlawn, she found spiritual fulfillment within her community. Shirley also delighted in her winters down south, fully embracing the life of a classic snowbird. Resting at the Boyce Funeral Home Ltd., 138 Daniel Street N., Arnprior. Visitation will be held Saturday January 25, 2025 from 11:00 until time of service in the Boyce Chapel at 12 noon. Reception to follow at the Boyce Reception Centre. Spring Interment Arnprior Albert Street Cemetery. A donation may be made in Shirley's memory to the Arnprior Regional Health Foundation or to a charity of your choice.
