It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of our father Ramsay, Wednesday December 11, 2024. Ramsay is survived by his companion Mitzi Bertrand and predeceased by his wife Isabel (Carmichael) and Gloria (Lee). Ramsay was a devoted father to Sharon (Lewis Boone), Linda (Gary Lesway) and Paula (Greg Farrell). He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren, Cody (Sarah Newton), Jacqueline (Phil Perkins), Julia (Kade Laventure), Meaghan Farrell and Paige (Jesse Lambe) and his great grandsons, Hudson and Dawson who brought him much joy. He is the brother of George (Joan) and predeceased by Walter, Jack (Beryl), Beth (Bill Shaw) and Don (Madelaine). Ramsay was the son of the late William Noble Thomson and Sarah Ann Sinclair. Ramsay was predeceased by his brother and sister-in-laws Ian Carmichael (Anne), Ken Carmichael (Shirley), Jean Kinkade (Norman), Anne Carmichael, Carrie Farnsworth (Jim), Edith O’Neil (Greg), Edna Farmer (Don), Neil Carmichael (Evelyn) and Alec Carmichael. He began his career as a young lad working in his father’s mill, Valley Textiles in Arnprior. He retired as an executive at Canada Post Headquarters at 55. He loved to travel. He spent his summers boating on the Ottawa River and at his cottage at Kilroy Bay and his winters in Arizona and California. His primary residence became Vancouver Island. He loved music. He sang in the choir at Grace St. Andrew’s United Church for many years. He was an accomplished piano and ukulele player and entertained many people over the years. Ramsay’s arrangements have been entrusted to the Boyce Funeral Home Ltd., 138 Daniel Street N., Arnprior. Private family services are being held. Spring Interment at Arnprior Albert Street Cemetery. In memory of Ramsay, a donation may be made to Grace St. Andrew’s United Church or to the Arnprior Regional Health Foundation.
