Eva Louise Closs “Toots”

December 15, 1953 - December 6, 2024

Eva Louise Closs, affectionately known as "Toots," passed away peacefully on Friday, December 6, 2024, at the Arnprior and District Memorial Hospital after a brief illness, just nine days shy of celebrating her 71st birthday. Louise was predeceased by her partner, Don Dykins, and her sister, Mary Jo "Joey" Closs. She leaves behind her dear siblings Eleanor "Ellie" Murray (Scott), Tom Closs, John Closs (Rose), and Bruce Closs. She will be profoundly missed by her numerous nieces, nephews, her loving cousin Kevin Griffin, special friend Molly and many close friends. She was the cherished daughter of the late James and Lillian (Clouthier) Closs. Despite enjoying her own company, Toots cherished the time she spent with her family and friends. She was a member of the Arnprior Legion, where she found a balance between her love for solitude and the warmth of community. Her walks through downtown Arnprior were not just for exercise but also moments to connect with her surroundings and the people she knew. She lived a life that appreciated the quieter joys, finding peace in nature and the comfort of familiar faces. Her life was a testament to the beauty of quiet connections and the strength of bonds formed in simplicity.

Louise’s arrangements have been entrusted to the Boyce Funeral Home Ltd., 138 Daniel Street N., Arnprior. Friends are invited to join the family during visitation Tuesday April 22, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. -2:00 p.m. Interment to follow at  Arnprior Malloch Road Cemetery where Louise will be laid to rest with her beloved Don. In memory of Louise, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
