Obituary of Doris Brown
Doris Agnes Brown
(nee Rivett)
August 29, 1927- October 4, 2024
With heavy hearts, the family announces that Doris passed away peacefully at Bonnechere Manor in Renfrew on Friday, October 4, 2024, at the age of 94. Beloved wife of the late John Edward “Ted” Brown. Loved mother of Marilyn, Glenn, Stephen, Donald (Anne) and Bonnie Martell (Paul). Cherished grandmother of Julie Brown (Chad), Stephanie Demers (Mike), Amanda Turpin (Joe) and Morgan Brown and great-grandmother of Brendan, Kylie, Matthew, Lucas, Jenevieve and Maxx. Sister-in-law of Jean Coulas (late Bernie), Eileen Demers (Don) and John Hyndman (Gail). Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by sister Margaret Stovka (late Leslie), brother James “Jim” Rivett (late Beverley) and brother-in-law Allan (late Marilyn). Daughter of the late Russell and Dorothy (Knight) Rivett. An active and caring member of Grace St. Andrew's United Church, Doris was deeply involved in the U.C.W., contributing her time and love to countless church functions, dinners, and special events. Her pies, always cut with perfection, were a symbol of her thoughtfulness and precision. Beyond her work for the church, Doris volunteered with the Arnprior Hospital Auxiliary, brightening the days of many through her dedication in the hospital gift shop. She found joy in the simple pleasures of knitting, crocheting, and reading, and her wonderful sense of humor and lively spirit made her a delight to be around. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the Arnprior Villa and Bonnechere Manor for their exceptional care and love, which made Doris feel truly at home in her later years. She took joy in participating in the many activities there, especially the fashion shows that brought out her radiant smile. Doris' eyes would twinkle whenever "The girl with the dog," would visit. Visitation will be held at Boyce Funeral Home Ltd., 138 Daniel Street North, Arnprior, on Friday, October 11, 2024, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:30 a.m. in the Boyce Chapel. A reception will follow in the Boyce Reception Centre. Interment will be held at Arnprior Albert Street Cemetery, where Doris will be laid to rest with her beloved Ted. In memory of Doris, a donation may be made to Grace St. Andrew’s United Church or Bonnechere Manor, Renfrew.
