Obituary of Helen MacHardy

July 14, 1928 – July 28, 2024

(nee Fulton)

Helen passed away peacefully at Groves Park Lodge, Renfrew, on Sunday, July 28, 2024 at the age of 96. Helen, born in Cedar Hill, was a devoted wife of the late Donald MacHardy (March 31, 1997). Predeceased by her parents John C. Fulton and Effie Melanson. Helen was a passionate gardener and proud member of the Galetta community, Galetta Lawn Bowlers, Bethel-St. Andrew’s Church and the Lorne Sutherland Women’s Institute. Beloved mother of Pat Weir (Gary) and Jim MacHardy (Saundra). Cherished Grandmother of Sarah Nugent (Glenn), Michael MacHardy (Allison), Pauline Both (Brad) and to her Great Grandchildren James, Cameron, Charlotte, Anna, Grace, Isla, Penny, Beckett. She is predeceased by her brothers Arthur (Anne) and Raymond (late Isobel). Affectionately remembered by many nieces and nephews. Visitations will be held on Friday, August 2, 2024 from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. at the Boyce Funeral Home Ltd., 138 Daniel Street N., Arnprior and Saturday morning from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. at Bethel-St. Andrew's United Church, 184 Jack Lougheed Way, Fitzroy Harbour. The Funeral Service will take place at Bethel-St. Andrew's United Church Saturday August 3, 2024 at 10:00 a.m., with reception to follow at the Bethel St. Andrew's church hall. Interment at Pakenham Union Cemetery. The family kindly requests that donations in memory of Helen be made to Bethel-St. Andrew's Church, Fitzroy Harbour or the Arnprior Regional Health Foundation.
