Obituary of Wilbert "Bill" Fumerton

Peacefully at the Arnprior and District Memorial Hospital on Thursday July 11, 2024 at the age of 92.

Wilbert Alexander Fumerton.

Bill, born in Arnprior, was a dearly loved and devoted husband to Marian for 70 years, and a beloved father of Richard (Monika), Jeff (Ellen), Barbara (Rod), and predeceased by daughter Wendy (2015) and son Mark (2023). He was a cherished grandfather of Carrie, Andrew, Chad, Nathan, Olivia, Scott, and Vanessa (Stephen). He was the dear brother of Mary Craig and Lorraine Hanson and was predeceased by his siblings, Alma McNab, Audrey Bayford, Harriet Campbell, Herbert, and Shirleyann Ellis. He will be missed by his many nieces and nephews. Bill had a lengthy career at Playtex in Arnprior and Malton. A long-time resident of Brampton, he retired to Braeside and then Arnprior.

Bill was an amazing man who loved his family deeply. He cherished every moment spent with them and was adored by all who knew him. He loved the outdoors and was an active hunter and fisherman. He always looked forward to fishing with his sons, grandchildren, and the regular gang at Norcan Lake every May. This annual fishing trip turned into a cherished tradition, creating countless memories that will be treasured forever. In his retirement years, he enjoyed volunteering and curling. His heart was big, and his passion for life, dedication to his family and kind spirit touched everyone he met.

Bill's arrangements have been entrusted to the Boyce Funeral Home Ltd., 138 Daniel Street N., Arnprior where friends are invited to join the family during visitation on Saturday July 20, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Interment at St. Mark's Anglican Cemetery, Pakenham on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. Donations in Bill's memory may be made to the Arnprior Regional Health Foundation.

Bill will be lovingly remembered by all his family and friends and will be dearly missed. His legacy of love, joy, and kindness will continue to live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
