It is with great sadness that we learned of the loss of Auntie Freda. Freda was sister to our mum Marjorie. Freda and Marjorie wrote lengthy weekly letters to each other for over 60 years which allowed us to remain connected to her life in Canada. Despite being so far away, Freda and Lin always played a huge part in our lives. They visited Preston together every 3 years and Freda would also travel on her own whenever she could too. There was always great excitement whenever they came and we look back on those times with such fondness. After Mum succumbed to Alzheimer’s, we took up the role of ringing Freda every week or two and she amazed us constantly with her acceptance of her isolation during covid, her incredible reading material and her indomitable spirit. We’ll miss our chats so much and she has left a huge hole in all our lives.

I first met Freda over 40 years ago when I worked at Huyck Canada (Kenwood Mills). Then rekindled the friendship when I worked for Lindon at Boeing Arnprior. A very dear and strong woman. Condolences to the family and her friends.

Freda was a mentor and friend to me during my years at Kenwood. Always interested in my family. Ran into her last winter shopping and helped her home. Tried to keep in touch but was difficult. My condolences to her family and especially Rita. Happy you were there for her.

Julie and I are saddened to hear of Freda's passing. Such a lovely person. When I was growing up, Freda always spoke to me, asking how I was, showing interest. Later Freda and Julie golfed together and Julie discovered just how nice she was. Condolences to all.
