Obituary of Jean Campbell

(nee McMillan)

August 27, 1932 - May 21, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jean Isabel Campbell, who left us on Tuesday evening, May 21, 2024, at Groves Park Lodge in Renfrew, surrounded by her loving family. She was 91 years old.

Jean was the beloved wife of the late Guard Duncan Campbell (2010). She will be deeply missed by her children Cindy LaBrie (Barry) of Arnprior and Chris Campbell (Vicki) of Pontypool. She was predeceased by her son Carson Campbell (late Susan). Jean was a cherished grandmother to John (Ashley), Brent (Amy), the late Sarah (Jeff), Katie, and Montana, and a great-grandmother to Taylor, William, Eli, Holly, Olivia, and Grace. She is also survived by her dear brother Willie McMillan (Edna) of Arnprior. Jean was predeceased by her sisters Marion (late Horace Koch), Mary Bandy (late Glen), and brothers Johnny McMillan (late Marian), Roy McMillan, and R.J. McMillan. She will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Groves Park Lodge for their compassionate care.

Jean was dedicated to her family and generously volunteered her time to organizations such as the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Cancer Society, and Women on Snow, Haliburton Chapter with the Easter Seals. She started her Bell career as a Telephone Operator then moved to Oshawa where she completed her 35 years in the office. Jean treasured her involvement with the Bell Pioneers, enjoying the fellowship of her colleagues.

Jean’s arrangements have been entrusted to Boyce Funeral Home Ltd., 138 Daniel Street N., Arnprior. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., followed by a memorial service in the Boyce Chapel at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Arnprior Albert Street Cemetery, with a reception to follow at the Boyce Reception Centre. In memory of Jean, donations may be made to Groves Park Lodge, Renfrew.
