My cousin, Sheila Havey, informed me of Grace’s passing.
My Dad, Bernie Ruddy, used to meet his cousins for lunch… Grace was the last member of that lunch group!
My condolences to all who knew and loved her. From what I’ve read here, there aren’t many like her in this world today… the kindness and love she showed to so many people is a very rare quality.

My condolences to Grace's family. I met Grace when she worked for Oris & Edna Mather in a little office on Madawaska Street in Arnprior. It was my first job and she was a wonderful teacher. She cared very deeply for her family and every year when the Lenten season rolls around I think of her. She would attend daily Mass before work and gave up her afternoon "Coke" --never missed a day. I lost contact with her when I married and returned to Renfrew. Rest in Peace Grace.

I will always remember when I first met Grace. So many years ago, over half a century. Mike was washing his car in the driveway on a Saturday morning. We got to planning the day.
Mike had not had breakfast yet, so he paused and shouted up the long stairway to the second floor. “Mom, make me a bacon and tomato sandwich". To my utter surprise, a voice came back down, "does your friend want one too”. She was always so kind to Mike’s friends, but she wasn’t going to put up with any nonsense either. She could straighten you out pretty fast.
I spent some time with her a few days after her 100th birthday and she was still very sharp. In those few hours I learned much about Arnprior I never knew. She went back in time and talked of horse drawn milk wagons, steam trains, etc. It was a brief window into her and Arnprior's past.
If we could all have that life.

To my best friend Grace ‘s family, my sincere condolences to her daughter, Jill and sons Josh (Dana) and Adam and their children Sian and Jake, her son, Michael’s family, wife Maxine and daughters, Lynn and Laura (Brien) and their children Amelia and Miles as you try to navigate this most difficult time. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Your Mom, Grandma and GG , Grace, was one beautiful, amazing, down to earth, and quick witted lady who I referred to as my second Mom of 44 years who I had the utmost priviledge of meeting. She was always there for me, to just sit, listen and chat and a few friendly words of advice. I will always cherish the time we had together, having tea, snacks, great visits, laughing a lot and going to bingos. A very rare gem of a wonderful lady who I love and will miss greatly. Rest in peace my best friend and Mom Grace . You will be thought of often.
Love Dorothy and Allan Whitelock

We are so sorry to hear of the loss of Grace. She was a great lady with whom I came to have a closeness with. She was the mother of my best friend and as such she held a special place in my heart as well. Our visits were not so often but when we did we shared many a good laugh together.
Rest well my friend and say hello to Magoo for me…
