Obituary of Carol Brown

(nee Dinwoodie)

November 1, 1955 – April 4, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce that Carol passed away peacefully at Saint Vincent Hospital, Ottawa on Thursday April 4, 2024 at the age of 68 surrounded by the love of her family. Carol was the cherished wife of David Brown and the devoted mother of Christopher Brown of Ottawa, Melissa Currah (Simon) of Fernie, B.C., and Kevin Brown of Ottawa. She also held a special place in the hearts of her grandchildren, Greta, Owen, and Gus Currah. Carol was the beloved sister of Charles (Ched) Dinwoodie of North Bay and Ruth Dinwoodie of Florida. Carol was predeceased by her parents, Robert and Lorna (Powell) Dinwoodie. A dedicated registered nurse for 40 years and a graduate of Algonquin College’s Nursing Program, Carol began her career at Saint Vincent Hospital in Ottawa and retired from the Ottawa General Hospital’s Rehabilitation Ward. Her passion for nature was evident in her love for exploring trails, bird watching and photography. She was an avid sewer, loved quilting, and recently had found a new love of bowling. Carol's memory will forever be cherished by those who knew her. Carol’s arrangements have been entrusted to the Boyce Funeral Home Ltd., 138 Daniel Street N. Arnprior. Visitation and funeral service will be held at Parkwood Presbyterian Church, 10 Chesterton Street, Ottawa, Thursday April 11, 2024. Visitation will take place from 10:00 a.m. – 11:45 a.m. The funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon with reception to follow at the church hall.
