Obituary of Benedict "Ben" Sauvé

April 16, 1931 – December 6, 2023

(Ben’s TV, Arnprior)

(Former Owner-Arnprior Junior B Packers)

It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Benedict Joseph “Ben” Sauvé, a pillar of the Arnprior community, on December 6, 2023, at the Arnprior and District Memorial Hospital. Ben, aged 92, departed this world surrounded by his loving family. He was the cherished husband of Mona Sauvé (nee Ryan) for 64 years. A devoted patriarch, Ben leaves behind a legacy of love and commitment as the proud father of Christine Blimkie (Jeff), Blair (predeceased), Paul (Irene), Kim, Lisa Lewis (Tracy), Michelle, Monique (Darren), Jean Pierre, Dwayne, and Marcel (Susie). His impact extends to his grandchildren, Julie (Mike), Melanie (Ryan), Brianna (Ryan), Nychelle (Sheldon), Alexa (Wade), Mark, Jessica, Patrick, Ryan, Jennifer (Greg), Joshua (Kim), Michael, Avery, Evan, and Justin, as well as his great-grandchildren Connor, Liam, Blair, Holden, Jovie, Cara (predeceased), Paisley, Ava, Ryker, Isla, and Wren. Ben is survived by his dear brother Raymond (Lee) of Cornwall and was predeceased by his siblings Pierre, Albert, Rita, Maria, Theresa, Antoinette and Wayne. He leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly.  Born to the late Henri and Aulier (Dupuis) Sauvé. Ben was a devoted family man, prominent businessman and sports enthusiast. Renowned as the owner of Ben’s TV in Arnprior, he was also the proud owner of the Arnprior Jr. B Packers and played a pivotal role in the Braeside Community Centre. As one of the founders of the Salute to the Ottawa Valley and a dynamic force in the Business Improvement Association, Ben's impact was far-reaching. His dedication to family and community is a testament to the extraordinary individual that he was—a man whose legacy will forever resonate in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. Friends and community members are invited to pay their respects during visitation at the Boyce Funeral Home Ltd., 138 Daniel Street N., Arnprior on Thursday, December 7, 2023, from 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. and Friday, December 8, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, December 9, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Braeside, followed by a reception at the Church Hall. Private family interment at Arnprior Malloch Road Cemetery at a later date. In memory of Ben, a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Arnprior Regional Health Foundation would be appreciated.
