As a little girl, I thought my uncle Morris was perhaps the handsomest, smartest, wittiest man I knew...next to my Dad (his brother) of course. He always showed such genuine interest in my life, what I thought about things and how I was doing. I would spend hours just listening to the two brothers talk. They were such good story tellers and so much alike in many ways. When I would see Uncle Morris after my father had passed, his resemblance to his brother always reminded me of how much I missed my Dad. My life was made richer having had 2 such wonderful men as role models. Steven and Beth, I share your sadness with you and your families. You were so lucky to have had so many wonderful years with your Dad. I know how much you loved him and how much he will be missed.

Beth, Steven, and your families, our deepest condolences. John and I were so saddened to hear of the loss of your Dad. We have many fond memories of good times, shared with Morris and Lois at our Sandy Beach gatherings, especially the Sunday morning Brunches on the beach. We also enjoyed our chats when we would take the great-granddaughters over for a visit and how he would light up to see them. I was amazed to watch him just last year down by the river, trimming the bushes along his steps. Always a Landscaper! He will be missed. May he rest in peace.

Morris (and Lois) are part of my earliest memories. We lived beside them on Seymour St., now River Road. They were the extra parents when Phil and I needed them. Morris was a great neighbour, he could do stuff that was impressive to a pair of six and eight year old boys. He would hunt and deer would appear on the top of his car in the fall, landscape his property, tell great stories, give boxing tips, and put the fear of god into you if you were doing something stupid. I remember the arrival of Beth and Steven, how happy that made him (and Lois)
There is a proverb, “someday your life will pass before your eyes, make sure it is worth watching”….his was a blockbuster.

I had the pleasure of working with the James gang for many years. Anyone that worked for Morris will tell you what a great man he was that always took pride in his work and his crews. His love for the outdoors was reflected in everything he did and provided many tales that always ended in a laugh and that big smile. We'll all miss him but I'm sure he's busy making Heaven a little greener.

My deepest condolences to Morris’ family. I’ve known Morris and Lois since I was about 8 years old when my Dad and I moved to Seymour Street. I always thought he was such a handsome man! He was always such a true gentleman and always had a kind word to say ( sometimes even a joke ha ha) I always admired the way he could play the spoons. You are in my thoughts and prayers. RIP Morris!

I worked with James Landscaping for over 25 years. Morris, as a boss, was one of a kind. He directed, advised, supported, and encouraged his workers. We learned something of value from each interaction with him. Marilyn and I send our sincere sympathy to Beth, Steven, and their families.

Lois and Morris were like my second parents. Ironically I became close to them when they lovingly adopted their children, and I babysat for them. I left Arnprior when just 16, but we were in close contact, and they welcomed me into their home on my frequent visits back to Arnprior. Lois and Morris were a loving couple to each other. Lois gave the best hugs and Morris was a hoot. I loved his sense of humor. They provided me with love when I most needed it and beyond. I shall always remember their love and kindness. Together again, which was Morris never ending wish. Let the fun begin. Love and hugs
