Obituary of Jane Potter

(nee Penney) December 24, 1947- May 3, 2023 With saddened hearts, we announce that Jane passed away on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, at the Grove Nursing Home in Arnprior at the age of 75. Beloved wife of the late Brian Potter (2005) and proud mother of her three sons Kevin (Faye), Glen (Cindy) and Jeff (Tracy). Cherished grandmother of Brianna, John, Amber, Jacob, Rachel, Cameron, Josie (John), Katrina (Brad), Caitlin (John) and great-grandmother of Owen, Isabella, Jackson, and Jamie. Jane was the daughter of the late David and Gladys (Delahunt) Penney and grew up in Kinburn with her three siblings. She is survived by her brothers George Penney (Diane) and Bob Penney. Predeceased by her sister Donna Jorgensen (Winston) and sister-in-law Berna McClure (late Jack). Loving aunt to many nieces and nephews. Jane was a retired teacher and farmer who was deeply committed to her work. She took great pride in caring for her land and animals, and was passionate about the education and welfare of her students. Her dedication and hard work were an inspiration to all who knew her. She was an active member of the Grace St. Andrew's United Church in Arnprior, where she volunteered with the United Church Women and was a valued member of the congregation. She was also a member of the Women's Institute and gave her time to numerous charitable causes throughout her life. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Her kindness, compassion and selflessness will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. A private family graveside service will be held at Arnprior Malloch Road Cemetery. Jane's arrangements have been entrusted to the Boyce Funeral Home Ltd., 138 Daniel Street North, Arnprior. In memory of Jane, donations can be made to the Arnprior Regional Health Foundation.
