I am so sorry to hear of Jim’s passing! My deepest sympathy to you Joeanne, Andrew, Shaun and family! I have many fawn memories of Jim and I hunting deer. I’m sure him and Uncle Red are swapping stories up there like they did at the hunt camp!
I am sure he died doing what he loved.
Why God takes the good ones early is because he needs the help in heaven.
May he rest in piece!

How I wished to be there in person today, but health issues are keeping me away. I love all my cousins, but Jimmy was so special to me, it's hard to even express it. His love and kindness came through his smile all the time. My memories of him are precious and always will be. There was the day I was waiting for the kindergarten bus outside Meeks' house and got hit in the nose with a hockey stick. Charlie was on one side, fighting over it even though it was an accident, and Jimmy ran over from his bus stop to stop the bleeding because I was crying my eyes out and making a mess. I don't know if I made him miss his bus, but that set the tone for my relationship with Jimmy... always looking out for me, always a kind word, encouraging me, cheering me on and just being such a shining role model. Anybody would be blessed to have his influence in their life. That's how I have always seen him.
I love him dearly and I am so so sorry Joanne and the boys, and Patsy, Nancy and Dave. I know there is no magic fix for the grieving, but for what it's worth, Jimmy was and always will be very dearly loved and fondly thought of. I wonder if my mother has stopped hugging the stuffing out of him in Heaven yet... she won't let him go. The rest of them will have to stand in line.
One last thing... I just wanted to say that I know how much Jimmy loved my mom and dad, and when I was looking through some of dad's photos and memorabilia, oh, it was in the 90s, but I was just shuffling through them, Dad still had a Father's Day card that Jimmy had given him when he was a kid. It was kept and treasured. I don't know where my own cards to Dad went, but Jimmy's was in there. See? Very very loved... and what is not to love about him? I don't know anybody who doesn't think he was awesome.

My Dearest Joanne. My fond memory of you & Jim was the weekend we all got together to celebrate your Mom & Dads 50th Wedding Anniversary. That was the first time I saw you and Jim after several years. We had so much fun that day speaking Polish (or I should say, "attempting to speak Polish") LOL and recounting our childhood times together. My sincere condolences to you & your family and may you find the strength to move forward during this difficult time!
God Speed Jim!

Dear Joanne,
Peter and I are very sorry to hear about Jimmy's passing. What a great loss for you, Andrew and Shawn and of course your families. When I think of Jimmy I always think of him as a boy, always laughing and always seeking questionable "activities" with Jeff that did not always amuse my Dad. When I spoke to Jeff yesterday I jokingly said that he would have a lot of good stories to tell us about the two of them, with Robin as well, and he said maybe a few but some of them would forever remain just between the two of them.
I regret that I will not be able to attend the funeral but I shall watch via video. I shall be thinking of you and hoping you can find some comfort in the love and support of your family and friends.
Love, your cousin-in-law Leslie

Lorraine and I have had the pleasure of knowing both Jim and Joanne during his exemplary career, both professionally and as friends. Jim and I were shift partners during his first posting to Ottawa and I was thrilled to work to work with him again on his last, in the Professional Standards Office of the Military Police, where we enjoyed visiting many of the MP sections across the country. It was my annual golfing highlight, where together for many years, Jim and Shawn, my son Matt and I played as a team at the annual MP Blind Fund tournament in Ottawa.
To Joanne, Andrew, Shawn and the Stewart family our sincerest condolences.

Heartfelt condolences to Joanne, Andrew, Shawn, and their families. We were shocked and greatly saddened to hear of Jim’s sudden passing. Jim was one of the best neighbours that one could hope for. He was always ready with kind advice and a helping hand. Jim carried himself proudly … and rightfully so. His quiet-spoken observations and opinions on life fueled many pleasant porch-to-porch conversations over the years.
We will dearly miss his wonderful wit. Exchanging good-natured barbs with Jim was like fencing with a master that you could never hope to best. Jim would so often add insightful twists to the original path of our jests that we always looked forward to our next encounter. His sense of humour brought much joy into our lives.

Simply devastated to hear of Jim’s sudden passing. Jim and I began our MP careers together on early qualification courses and have remained friends over the decades. He had an infectious sense of humour and I loved his quick smile. While posted together to the MP Academy, I really gained a sense of how professional he was and the care he took of those in his charge. I will never forget him. My deepest condolences to Joanne and family.

Shocked and saddened to hear of Jim's passing. We were friends and coursemates on our Basic Security Officer Course back in 1991, and worked together on several occasions while we were both in uniform. A true gentleman with a wickedly dry sense of humour, Jim was a class act and a professional in the truest sense of the word. I always loved meeting up with him, as he always had a smile on his face. I will miss him greatly. My deepest condolences to Joanne and the family.
