Mark so sorry to hear of Jean's passing. The first time I spoke to her , from listening to you and Charlie, I called her your family nickname. After I said Babe , I was greeted by a couple of minutes of silence, but your Mom very graciously continued the conversation. She was very kind to Shirley and asked about each time we met. That was a few years ago at one of the Gallilee lunches. My sympathy to you. She was a lovely lady.

Our condolences, "Babe" was introduced to me as a young teen, and with Charlie were very generous people. I remember hanging around and Babe would offer lunch and have conversation that would give you something to think about. Spending time Mark and his family one summer were some great memories for me. Deepest thoughts from Stan and Thérèse.

Our condolences Marc on the passing of your mother.
Terry was a teacher with your father Charlie at ADHS for many years and I enjoyed spending time in craft or sewing related activities with Jean, and sharing conversations about anything and everything She was a meticulous, creative lady, known for making sock monkey dolls sold as fundraisers for the museum. Our son was the happy recipient of one of her monkeys that still resides with us half a century later! She was an inspiration and friend to so many who will miss her dearly.

Sincere condolences to Jean's family. I remember them well from years ago, Jean and Charlie coming into the Elgin Cafe for lunch or dinner. Both were so sweet. After Charlie passed, Jean would come in once in awhile by herself, I would sit with her for a few moments and have a chat, such a lovely lovely lady.
Rest in peace lovely people.

Sorry to hear of Jean's passing. Such a wonderful lady, who was always up for a spirited chat. I still have a print she gave me that hangs on the wall in my office, and think of her every time I look at it. God bless your entire family.

Dear Marc and family, my deepest condolences on your mother's passing. Your parents were great friends of my grandparents, Clem and Violet Colton of Braeside, and I recall many a Saturday or Sunday afternoon at their place, filled with laughter and your fathers Kodak Slide Projector, with the latest pictures of McTeer trips and family pics. Take care, Brian Colton

Jean was my mother’s best friend for over 70 years. After my mother passed away in 2016 I was delighted to have Jean tell me stories and show me photos of the two of them as adventurous young women. Being a keen reader (and huge Jeopardy fan) she was always up on the latest books, music, and movies, and gave me many great recommendations. I treasured the times we spent together when I visited Ottawa, and will miss her very much. Marc, I am very sorry for your loss. Janet Deisley (neé Freeth).”

Marc & family,
I was proud to have Rudy visit with Jean every Tuesday as a St John Ambulance Therapy Dog once COVID protocols allowed. He certainly brought a smile to her face. She would routinely announce to the staff “I’m going to get kissed by a dog today”. I will miss our chats. Please accept my condolences.
