Obituary of Winnifred Munro

(nee Munro) April 2, 1929 – September 21, 2022 It is with sadness we announce that Win passed away peacefully at the Arnprior and District Memorial Hospital, Wednesday evening, September 21, 2022 surrounded by her family. Winnifred Munro of Arnprior, formerly of Fitzroy Harbour at the age of 93 years. Beloved wife of the late William “Bill” Munro. (RCAF, U.S. Navy) (2015). Proud and loving mother of Dale Munro (Kendra) of Lindsay, Ontario. Much loved Nanna of Shannon and Brandon (Charlie-Marie) and Great Nanna of Owen and Gracelyn. Dear sister of Richard Munro (Janet) of Arnprior. Predeceased by her parents Lionel and Laura (Mosley) Munro and brother Stan Munro (Shirley) of Arnprior. Winnifred will be missed by her nieces and nephews, Karen Pretty (Barry), Kevin Munro, Glenda Munro, Christyl Munro Fenton, (Brad), Amanda Rousselle (Sean), Victoria Smith, (Cody) and Martyn Munro (Paula) and by her great nieces and nephews, Chelsea, Caylea, Drake, Bryce, Jordynn, Emily, Liam, Hannah and Hailey. Winnifred was a long-time member of the Bethel St. Andrew's United Church in Fitzroy Harbour and was a devoted member of the U.C.W. for many years. Her baking was extraordinary and was often shared at various church functions. She will be fondly remembered as the “Church Fairy”, as she often gave her unseen perfect touch to many an item that needed to be fixed. She volunteered her time to the Arnprior Hospital Auxiliary where she graciously served for more than 37 years. She enjoyed her time living at the Royal Scot where she made many, many close friends and became a lifelong companion to so many. Private family visitation will be held at the Boyce Funeral Home Ltd., 138 Daniel Street North, Saturday October 8, 2022 thence to Bethel St. Andrew's United Church in Fitzroy Harbour where friends are invited to a Celebration of Life Service at 11:00 a.m. Interment St. George’s Anglican Cemetery, Fitzroy Harbour. (Win would say, just turn right from the church, cross the bridge, go up the hill and turn left into the field, that is where the cemetery is.) Family and friends are invited to a luncheon following the service at the Bethel St. Andrew’s United Church Hall. For those wishing, in memoriams may be made to the Arnprior Regional Health Foundation.
