April 15, 1949 - August 27, 2022 Susan Louise MacMillan of Kinburn, Ontario, passed away peacefully at home, Saturday August 27, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife and best friend of William MacMillan. Proud and loving mother of Malcolm MacMillan (Ana) of Carleton Place, Ontario and Philip MacMillan (Cassandra) of Ottawa, Ontario. Doting grandmother of Benjamin and Abigail. Dear sister of Janet Hein (Albert) of Oakville and sister-in-law of Eileen Conway of Edmonton, James MacMillan (Gail) of Lakefield and Robert MacMillan (Sue) of Antigonish. Daughter of the late John and Margaret (Shackleton) Starr. Sue loved taking a special interest in the lives of her beloved grandchildren, hosting family gatherings, charity knitting as a member of the West Carleton Country Knitters and enjoying day trips around the Ottawa Valley with her husband and Labrador Retriever. Fondly remembered for her selfless nature and the enjoyment she took in her loved ones' happiness, her family will miss her sense of humour, baking, and loyalty to family. Sue was born and raised in Toronto and graduated from Humber College in 1971. Married in 1972, she and William resided in Toronto and then Oakville, before moving to Kinburn in 1990. Sue chose to stay home until her children were teenagers, before returning to the workforce to realize a lifelong goal of working together with William until they retired in 2008. The family wishes to thank Dr. Amanda Connell as well as the nursing staff at SE Health, Bayshore HealthCare and the Regional Palliative Consultation Team for their compassionate and tireless care. The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date. Sue's arrangements have been entrusted to the Boyce Funeral Home Ltd., 138 Daniel Street North, Arnprior.
