Obituary of Robert "Bobby" Brydges

October 29, 1931 –August 13, 2022 (Retired-Ontario Hydro, 44 years) Peacefully at Longfields Manor in Barrhaven, Ontario Saturday August 13, 2022; Robert William Campbell “Bobby” Brydges, formerly of Galetta, Ontario at the age of 90. Beloved husband of the late Ramona Brydges (1990). Loving father of Corinne Zimmerling (Denis), Donna Carmichael (Terry), Wayne Brydges (Sandra) and Rodney Brydges. Loving grandfather of Cole (Rachel), Cara (Riley), Courtney (Ritej), Cailey (Christian), Corbin, Kyle and Chris and great-grandfather of Layla, Liam, Nora and Flynn. Dear brother of Hilliard (Jean) of Winnipeg. Predeceased by sister Darlene Brydges (late Billy). Loving uncle to many nieces and nephews. Dear brother-in-law of Margaret Hanson (Tom) of Arnprior. Son of the late Alda Schlievert and Elisha Brydges. Bobby devoted his life to his family and to his faith. He was a member of the Glad Tidings Pentecostal Church in Arnprior and later the Woodvale Penetecostal Church in Ottawa. He volunteered for many years with Meals on Wheels and the Shepherds of Good Hope. He enjoyed country music, hunting, fishing, swimming, walking the dog on the parkway and taking drives. He was kind, sweet and gentle and was known by many to stop and share a smile and a friendly visit. The family wish to extend a heartfelt thank-you to their special angel Diane Sauve as well as the staff at Longfield’s Manor for their exceptional outstanding care, you all truly went above and beyond. Visitation will be held at the Boyce Funeral Home Ltd., 138 Daniel Street North, Arnprior Wednesday August 17, 2022 from 10:00 a.m.-12:45 p.m. Funeral Service to follow in the Boyce Chapel at 1:00 p.m. Interment Whyte’s Cemetery, Fitzroy Harbour. In memory of Bobby and to acknowledge his love for animals, a donation may be made to the Ottawa Humane Society.
