Sheila was a remarkable person. We shared an interest in horses and I remember her wonderful stallion Liquidity, who helped me raise some foals.
Whoever wrote her obituary captured her character beautifully.

Sheila was endlessly curious about new things. There was a lot of excitement when the LRT launched. So, a few weeks after it opened, we decided to ride the thing from one end of the city to the other just for the experience. She saw the fun in everything and could turn anything into an adventure.

When Sheila and Peter moved to Kinburn, the local young people were thrilled to see the arrival of horses. We would visit them in the field, announcing their names discovered upon the brass name plates on their halters, befriending them. When Sheila arrived home from the city, she was also pleased to meet us, and readily handed us pitch forks and grooming kits. Sheila recruited my help in exchange for lessons and later as a summer student. Sheila set the rules, Peter followed, sometimes pranking her.
I will remember Sheila most for her passion for animals and for all of the life skills that I learned from them. They were a loveable couple that always shared a beer together, despite the days hardships each evening after chores. I will miss you dearly.

Sheila loved to come into our farm supply store and chat about her beloved Ottawa Senators, plants and of course; her animals. We will miss her quick wit, her genuine smile and her truly interesting stories.
Always in our memory,
John, Teresa, Michael and Melissa Herrick

Our condolences to Sheila’s family on her passing. We didn’t know Sheila well, but knew she was there. We checked in with her from time to time during the worst of COVID, but she never took us up on our offer to pick up groceries, from that we knew she was fairly independent. The only time Sheila did accept help was when her ducks payed us a visit. When we called her, she came over in her car and George helped her round them up and she put them in burlap sacks for their short ride home in her trunk. Rest In Peace Sheila.

I worked with Peter for years. When I started at Canadian Tire I’ve served Sheila many times. Rest easy girl. Sounds like you had an amazing life
