(Retired Registered Nurse, CCAC Coordinator, Wife, Mother, Gardener, Volunteer, Naturalist) After a heroic, courageous battle featuring a complete absence of professional nursing care, hospice space and effective pain control, the family announces the tragic passing of Mary Forsyth on Saturday January 29, 2022, surrounded by the love of family at home in Woodlawn, Ontario, at the age of 77. Mary Elizabeth Forsyth was wife to David Forsyth, loving mother to Sarah Jane “Sass” Bergen (John) and Laura “Lolo” Elizabeth Lyn Forsyth. She was cherished grandmother to Briana Ashlyn Levi, Mairi Jean, and Dorothy Piper Elizabeth. Mary, daughter of the late Frank and Dorothy Elizabeth (Kennedy) Cornell of Lyn Ontario, is survived by dearest sisters Lynda and Shirley, nieces and nephews and was predeceased by brother George. Mary graduated from the Kingston General Hospital Registered Nurse program and Queen’s University and worked at Kingston General and Vancouver General hospitals before becoming a CCAC Coordinator in Ottawa. She was a choir member of the Bethel United Church in Kinburn, dedicated time as a volunteer with the Arnprior Museum and helped at the Arnprior & McNab/Braeside Archives and the Macnamara Field Naturalists’ Club. She will be remembered for her passion for her garden, hugs, singing, family dinners and bird watching. Mary’s arrangements have been entrusted to the Boyce Funeral Home Ltd., 138 Daniel Street North, Arnprior. A service to celebrate Mary’s life will be held at the Grace St. Andrew’s United Church in Arnprior Sunday February 27, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. In memory of Mary, a donation may be made to the Arnprior Regional Health Foundation, the Macnamara Field Naturalists’ Club or a charity of your choice.
