January 16, 1936-December 12, 2021
It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who passed away peacefully in her sleep on December 12th, 2021. She loved her family deeply and was devoted to her husband and sons: Kevin (Tauri), David (Elaine), Glenn (Stephanie). She was so proud of her grandchildren: Kourtney, Kody, Jessie and Rebecca. She is also survived by six great grandchildren. Fran was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland. She went onto a military career as a US Army nurse at Marten Army Hospital in Fort Benning, Georgia. In 1960, she met her future husband Ron when he was on attachment as Canadian exchange pilot on the 31st helicopter company, also located at Fort Benning. They were married on 23 April 1961 in Baltimore, Maryland. Fran was a pillar of strength to her family having taken on the responsibility of raising three young sons during Ron's many absences on military duty. All her family held her in high esteem and loved her deeply. Fran was an avid gardener. We were always surrounded by beautiful flowers and shrubs. She served as secretary and president of the Manotick Horticulture Society. We will be forever proud and grateful to have had her as a wife and mother. France’s arrangements have been entrusted to the Boyce Funeral Home Ltd., 138 Daniel Street North, Arnprior. As per Fran's wishes, there will be a private service to celebrate her wonderful life. In memory of Fran, a donation may be made to Parkinson Canada.
