Obituary of Gail Grail

Please share a memory of Gail to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
(nee Jackson) We are very saddened to announce that Barbara Gail Grail passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday August 10, 2021. She was 77. Gail was predeceased by her husband Earl Grail (2011). She was the dearly loved mother of Stephen (Tammy) and Katrina (Roy) and was predeceased by their father Kenneth Tomalty. Cherished grandmother “G.G.” of Caleb and Jackson, sister of Joan (John) and aunt of David (Janet). She was also the adored stepmother of Steven and Kathryn and loved her stepfamily sincerely. Over the past few years, she enjoyed a special friendship with Paul, filled with laughter and good conversation. She will be missed immensely by all those who knew and loved her. Daughter of the late Charles and Hazel Jackson. Gail had the biggest heart and loved helping people. She always had a bright smile and warm “hello” for family, friends and strangers alike. She was passionate about her work at the Montreal General Hospital and later at the Grove Nursing Home. Gail also loved music. Her beautiful soprano voice could be heard in the church choir, at many weddings, funerals and special events. She loved animals and had a number of dogs, cats and birds over the years including her adored poodles Amber, Charlie and Koral. Gail spent much time outdoors in her flower and vegetable gardens, walking with friends, or watching birds while sipping coffee (or white wine) on her deck. She loved to travel, making friends wherever she went, and returning repeatedly to see friends in Akumal, Mexico. Gail’s strong faith carried her through life. She was an active member of Grace St. Andrew’s United Church in Arnprior and was a long-time member of the U.C.W. Gail’s arrangements have been entrusted to the Boyce Funeral Home Ltd., 138 Daniel Street North, Arnprior where visitation will be held Monday August 23, 2021 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Memorial Service will be held Tuesday August 24, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in the Boyce Chapel. The service will be Live Webcast for extended family and friends. Please select the Live Webcast tab to the left of this page to view the service.
