Obituary of Nona Oatway

(nee Young) May 14, 1934-June 12, 2021 We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Nona Oatway on Saturday June 12, 2021 at the Arnprior and District Memorial Hospital at the age of 87. Predeceased by her husband and soulmate Frank Oatway of Summerside P.E.I. (2012). Survived by children Mike Oatway, Brenda Oatway (Grant Bird), Diane Wood-Oatway and grandchildren Breane (Mike), Cody and Bryden. Dear sister of Mary Scharf (Gary) of Arnprior. Predeceased by parents Walter and Marjorie (Harris) Young of Shawville, P.Q. and grandson Michael Oatway Jr. Nona was uprooted from her adopted home of P.E.I. to be closer to family in Ontario on the promise of returning to be with Dad. Forever grateful for the past 2 years, it is time for the trip home. Her sense of humour, laugh and recipe discussions will be missed. Nona’s arrangements have been entrusted to the Boyce Funeral Home Ltd., Arnprior where a memorial service will take place for family and friends. Details will be posted here once finalized.
