(Former Zamboni Operator-Nick Smith Centre)
Robert Douglas “Bob” MacLaren Jr., of Arnprior, lived an amazing life, until the age of 53, and on Saturday, May 1st, 2021 we said goodbye to a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, son and brother. Extraordinary husband of Tina Maclaren. Proud father of Ryan MacLaren (Khelsea) and Amanda (Rob) MacLaren. Bob was thrilled to have a grandson, Gabriel. Dear brother of Scott MacLaren (Tracey). Beloved son of Douglas MacLaren and late Carol (nee Bond). Bob fought a good battle, with the help and devotion of his family, doctors and caregivers, he was able to consider his battle a triumph by spending his time at home, with those he loved the most, sharing and making many lasting memories. A heartfelt thank-you to Dr. Greenough, Dr. Fishman and the many, many people involved in his care. His love of classic cars was well known by all. He will be remembered most for his will of steel, kindness to others and loyalty to his family and friends. Also, an antique collector at heart, he was delighted to know that his collection would one day bring joy to his family and friends. Everyone’s favorite, he will be missed as the Zamboni Driver! at the Nick Smith Centre. Bob’s arrangements have been entrusted to the Boyce Funeral Home Ltd., 138 Daniel Street North, Arnprior. Private family interment Friday May 7, 2021 in the family plot at Arnprior Albert Street Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in his memory to the Liver Foundation or the Arnprior Regional Health Foundation.
