Obituary of John Ransom

“Johnny Lightning” April 23, 1959-February 16, 2021 With broken hearts, John’s family announce that he passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family, music and friendship, Tuesday morning, February 16, 2021 at the age of 61 after a courageous battle with cancer. He will be dearly missed by his partner and best friend of 22 years, Beverley Fenton (nee Mitchell) and her son Adam. Special “Jampa” to Tallis and Kaena. Beloved son of Thomas Ransom of Toronto and the late Geraldine Ransom. Dear brother of Timothy, Thomas and Beverley Ransom and Catherine Tarala. Wonderful uncle to, Sophia, Alex, Silas, Nadine, Jacob, Tom, Becky, Sarah, Thomas, Hannah, Oliver and Henry. Johnny was a gentle soul, who loved deeply and was loved deeply in return. An inspirational guitar player, his friendship and talent will be missed by many friends in the music community. He will be greatly missed by his family, many excellent friends and a menagerie of furry friends. John’s arrangements have been entrusted to the Boyce Funeral Home Ltd., 138 Daniel Street North, Arnprior. Due to the current COVID-19 regulations, a celebration of John’s life will be held at a later date when family and friends can join together again.
