Obituary of Helen Slaughter

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Auntie, Helen Slaughter, on February 13, 2021, at the age of 80. After retirement from a long and fulfilling career with the Royal Bank of Canada in Toronto and then Vancouver, Helen moved back to the Ottawa area. Here she built the home of her dreams on the site of the family cottage at Rhoddy's Bay, west of Arnprior. Helen is predeceased by her parents Harry and Margaret Slaughter of Arnprior, her sister Anne Hupé (Allen) and nephew Robert, both of Ottawa. Leaving behind to mourn her passing are nephews Bryan (Trish), Kevin (Laura), and Bill (Belinda). Also grieving her passing are her great nephews and nieces Robert, Megan, Josh, Shirley, Troy and numerous cousins. She will be especially missed by her closest and long-time friends Kathy, Mary Lou and Arlene as well as her dear neighbours at Rhoddy’s Bay. Helen’s arrangements have been entrusted to the Boyce Funeral Home Ltd., 138 Daniel Street North, Arnprior. Donations in Helen's name may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada. A Private Family Graveside Service will be held Friday July 16, 2021 at the Arnprior Albert Street Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. The service will be Live Webcast and can be found to the left of this page under the donations tab. A limited number of guests are allowed at the cemetery at one time. Facemasks/coverings and social distancing measures required.
