Obituary of Marc Smith

Please share a memory of Marc to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
March 30, 1942-May 14, 2020 (Retired- Press Supervisor-CBC/Commissionaire) With sadness we announce the passing of Marc Thomas Smith at Almonte Country Haven Thursday May 14, 2020 at the age of 78. Beloved husband of Louise Jones-Smith (Boucher) of Arnprior. Dearly loved Dad of Lynn Clavette (Dan) of Ottawa and Kimberley Smith of Kingston. Cherished grandfather/pépère of Eric, Corey, Joey, Kayla, Nikki and Summer and great-grandfather of Melanie. Wonderful uncle to Fernand and Roy. Predeceased by his parents Thomas Smith and Irene Roy and half-sister Lucille Alie of Gracefield. Marc enjoyed a satisfying career as press supervisor at CBC and later as a Commissionaire and golf course marshall. He was a social butterfly to say the least and never missed a chance to meet new friends. A pool, card, and dart shark extraordinaire-he will be missed (on both sides of the pond) for his lively competitive nature. Everyone who ever met him, even in passing, liked him. He was loving and was loved by his family and friends. The family wish to extend the most heartfelt and most honourable mention to the “Angels” at Almonte Country Haven for their unwavering care, attention and support shown towards Marc and his family. Marc’s final care has been entrusted to the Boyce Funeral Home Ltd., 138 Daniel Street North, Arnprior. Arrangements remain private. Interment will take place in Gracefield, Quebec. In memory of Marc, a donation may be made to the Dementia Society.
