I met Bob when he hired me to work for him in 2006. Our relationship immediately turned into a long a lasting friendship where we along with our spouses, (Sue & Gary) travelled and enjoyed each other’s company. Bob and Sue and their family soon became “our family.”
We all looked forward to every chance we could meet, be it for a coffee, lunch, or dinner. Those were always great times and great memories we will cherish forever.
Bob had the kindest of hearts. Always willing to lend a hand, a shoulder to lean on and an ear to listen. In all senses of the word, Bob truly was the best friend anyone could have.
Our condolences and prayers to Sue and the whole Smith family on the passing of such a wonderful husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Bob will forever be in our hearts.
We miss you and love you Bob. Rest In Peace dear friend.
Gary & Wanda Little

This is from the wife of Jim Baker. I had the pleasure of getting to know Bob and Sue perhaps 8 or 9 years ago when I married Jim and we traveled to Ontario from Virginia to visit Jim's family and friends. Their warmth and good natures were readily apparent. Their kindness, generosity, and genuine interest in other people is so rare in the world, and it was always a pleasure to be in their company. May your memories of your husband, father, father-in-law, brother, and granddad fill you with love and gratitude. With love and heartfelt condolences.

This is from William J. ("Jim") Baker. Bob was the best friend and classmate of my brother, George (now deceased); Bob was one of my best friends, also. During our teenage years, he and my brother did many things together. We attended the car races in Oswego, NY, on Saturday nights. I also remember that Bob and I, along with my brother and Steven Shepard, attended the US Grand Prix at Watkins Glen, NY, in 1962. We mistakenly thought that could get a motel room near the area; that was a big mistake. We spent a very cold night on the infield of Watkins Glen raceway. New York nights are cold in October. My brother and Steven Shepard shared the only blanket in the back seat. Bob and I were very uncomfortable in the front seat. I never knew Bob not to be in good humor. Even though it was over 50 years ago, I remember the pleasure of his company. He was a true gentleman and was always kind to everyone. I truly miss him.

Bob was a great role model for me growing up. Sue let me be the wedding photographer with her Kodak Instamatic camera. He took me to the stock car races & I worked a few weeks one summer helping deliver milk to the cottages with him. As a brother-in-law, they visited often & it usually meant hearing a new joke. Bob loved to make others happy with laughter. Many fond memories of him & the kindness he showed to me, as a young teen. He will be truly missed. God bless Sue & family. Love, Bob & Jo-Anne Hall

As a long time member of the Kamloops Fishing Club we always looked forward t o seeing Bob at our Spring and Fall Meetings. He could always be relied upon for a good story and lots of fun. We shared many meals that Bob helped prepare and I'm sure that the folks at Costco were glad to see him coming. Bob was not always able to attend these past few years, but I do remember the last time when his son brought him. WE will miss him and remember him every time we go to Ashby Lake.

Bob was one of a kind he was a true friend when I worked at Neilson’s. When I had problems I always knew who I could turn to “cousin” Bob. I worked with Bob for 4 years and we had many enjoyable times together those memories will last forever. When we moved to British Columbia the first people to visit us were Bob and Sue true friends. Even though we haven’t spoken for years I still think back to the good times we had together.
Debbie and my thoughts are with Sue and the family.
