I was so sorry to hear of Mary's passing. Mary tried to help me with research of my Wark family of Fitzroy, she sent me some pictures of some of her paintings and some very interesting letters. Richard kindly sent me information of Mary's book, In The Beginning, which I enjoyed so much. I never met Mary in person, but enjoyed our correspondence so much!!! She was a wonderful lady and will be missed by many..
Hugs, Cheryl Wark

A legacy so rich Mary gifted with her life. I’m so lucky to have known her through my beloved friend Barb. (Our befriending began in Pembroke on November 25 1985.) A painting of Barb’s that graces my home has new meaning for me now. Ah, colour and form has come through family line too. Thank you Barb for carrying your mum’s expression on.
I wish you all a gentle memory honouring time.
Love Sandy in Sydney Australia

So sad to hear of Mary’s death. It is an honor to have known Mary.
We will never forget Mary’s friendly heart and her great sense of fun and humour. We spent many summers at MacLarens Landing, cottaging beside the Lougheeds, first with Mary ,Jack and their kids, then Peter and Jan and their family. We all grew up on the Ottawa River. So Love is all around you, as you bid Mary goodbye. Please accept our sympathy.

What a kind and gentle soul she was. When we moved to the area, she was so welcoming and made us feel at home. Mrs Lougheed never spoke a lot, but when she did it was bang on and she expected everyone to listen.
Thoughts and prayers to all of the family.
