Gerry, Anne, Jane, Jimmy and family,
We were so sorry to hear of Mildred’s passing. We have many fond memories of times with her. We will miss her special laugh, her smile that she always had and the twinkle in her eyes.
I remember the times that the family would go camping at White Lake, seeing all the Arnprior Macklems and hearing all the stories from Mildred that would bring the Ottawa Macklems up-to-date. Then later, all the good times we all had at all those weddings in the late 80s (difficult to believe that was 30 years ago!)
It’s hard to express how much we will miss Mildred and know that even more so for you.
We are sorry that we couldn’t make the service today and hope to see everybody in the summer. Our deepest condolences to all.
George, Judy, Connor & Bailey

Our deepest sympathy to all of the Macklem family. I spent much of my childhood at the home of Uncle Gerry and Aunt "Millie". Looking back I have so many happy memories of those times. As always, you don't reflect back on these times until it's too late to express your feelings. I didn't appreciate at the time how wonderful Aunt Millie was. She was always so happy and jovial and considerate of others. Even with all of our antics (and there were plenty), I cannot ever remember Aunt Millie raising her voice or getting angry with us. She was always so patient and understanding of everyone around her. I will miss her but will always have my childhood memories of such an unselfish, fun loving and caring person.

A huge loss to her family but also to the GSA’s family. She’ll be missed in the CEC kitchen. When I retired and moved back to Arnprior and GSA 3 years ago she ruled the kitchen. She whipped the cream for our strawberry socials and apparently had done it for years. Needed help last year. Reprimanded some of us if we weren’t putting cutlery in right drawers. Told me fun stories about my mother Jenny and we giggled! Was doing a quilt with a dog for one of her grandchildren last summer that I took a picture of but can’t find it. Laughing that this grandchild loved dogs - Beagle? Last thing she told me as we showed her the new kitchen at the church was she felt the cutlery drawer was in the wrong place. I’m unable to be at service Friday but will be helping make sandwiches and squares on Thursday. RIP to a great lady . Hope you can all take comfort in the life she lead. She was a treasure!
