To Sara, Karen, Jake and families,
Jack had such an impact on my life. He was my mentor and a friend. He made me believe in myself, and I find myself still quoting his lessons all the time. His laughter and sense of humour in the office were a memorable part of what made him such a great leader. It was such a privilege to work with him for so long.
He stood by me for a lot of ups and downs in my life, and he is, and always will be, missed. My sincere condolences,
Dale

I have just heard of the passing of Jack. Out West, where I now live in Sechelt on the Sunshine Coast, new travels slowly.
Jack took me on board at the formation of Systemhouse after meeting up at Systems Dimensions Ltd (SDL) on Brookfield Drive. I have many great memories of those days in the "apartment" office we all shared!
l too had such a wonderful time working at Systemhouse in its formative years. As Pat Plummer so nicely put it - "Those were the days, my friend! We worked hard, played hard, and were privileged to be a part of an amazing team". He was a great mentor and got me through all my ups and downs during those years.
His lovely smile and demeanour and his family values was something that has stayed with me over the years and have tried to emulate. I feel privileged to have known him and work with him.
My sincere condolences to all of Jack's family.

Jack’s infectious vision attracted me to SHL in early 1975, but his deeply held respect for people and the importance of encouraging their dreams was the heart of the unique culture he created there. For decades after his departure from SHL his culture inspired thousands of people who never experienced the gift of knowing him. His commitment to winning was unmatched, captured in one of my favorite quotes “If you don’t have a customer, you don’t have a business”, but ultimately it was his sincere deep personal caring for every one of his employees that made him a great leader and inspiration for me and so many others. My sincere condolences to his family for their loss.

I was saddened to read of Jack's passing away.
I'd lost touch with Jack, but well recall his academic reputation at long ago Fisher Park High.
He was truly an early high tech visionary, but also had many other wonderful qualities.
He recruited agnostical me, (along with Roman Catholic John Kelly) to help him teach a group of adolescent guys in Sunday School at Kingsway United Church-it worked well for all concerned!
Jack was also an early client in the early '70's when I had relatively few of these as a brand new investment advisor.
Jack did so many things well and he will be widely missed by anyone fortunate enough to have known him.
Sincere condolences to his family during this difficult time.

My deepest condolences to the extended Davies family. As Barb Sauve says, Jack was a mentor and certainly the most memorable and respected mentor that I had the privilege of knowing in our days together at SHL Systemhouse in Ottawa and Washington DC. Unfortunately, most of his "damn the torpedoes" advice could only be realized by a person of his enormous talent, charisma and optimism. I am still saddened that we went separate ways after SHL, but that was Jack - one of the most unforgettable persons that I have had the pleasure of working with (and Systemhouse had its share). The crazy stories, and his accomplishments, come flooding back.

Jack was a visionary, a leader and a mentor to many. He saw potential in people and provided the encouragement and opportunity to develop it. I was privileged to attend the school of Jack Davies, working with him at Systemhouse, CTMG and ActiveSystems and am forever grateful for his guidance and friendship. Sincere condolences to Karen, Sara and Jake and the entire Davies family for this sad loss.
