I love the photo of Aunt Gwen as it really captures her joy of living. Whenever I went to visit I was always struck by the laughter, love, acceptance and forgiveness that I found there.
I was amazed by the story of Aunt Gwen making taffy apples for Halloween only to find at the end that her diamond was lost. Undoing what they had so painstakingly done - the diamond was found and put back in its rightful place. Pretty fine determination!
There was another story that Stan mentioned about Aunt Gwen and Uncle Wib returning one Christmas Eve ( I believe that was the night) to find Marilyn and Stan at the piano playing Christmas Carols. After that Christmas Eve was dedicated to family.
When the Kidd and O'Brien families got together around the ping pong table in our recreation room, there was always lots of good food, conversation and once again laughter.
I cherish these memories and hope that in some small way I can extend her legacy of love and laughter.
