To the Armsden family.
I have known Bruce for years, mostly from Arnprior hockey. I remember him as a kid while he was Jr. B. trainer . Later he was still around the Packers , when I played for them. He also helped me when I needed to purchase new goalie equipment over the years. I wish I could attend services in person, but please accept my codolences. Shawn McCuaig

Reading all of the messages and condolences to Bruce's family is telling of how Bruce impacted all of us in Arnprior and throughout the Valley. He was our Mr. Hockey. He was the Walter Gretzy of Anrprior. We will all miss him but will never forget all that he has done for us. Bruce Armsden is an Ottawa Valley Legend and Hero to so many who knew him. The kids, the players both men and women, and the referees, that he has helped and impacted with his kindness and generosity and smiling face will always remember Arnprior's, Mr. Hockey!

I have know Bruce since I played for the Packers in 1976. During my time refereeing he would always come in say hello and ask if we needed anything (which included adult beverages) . He was always there when needed. Hockey is a little poor with his passing. I know he will be missed. Please accept my condolences. Scott

Shocked to hear the news of Bruce. He would often come in to visit Rob at work and we would chat and of course it would be about hockey. Bruce had such a passion for the sport and helped in so many ways. Bruce is an icon to Arnprior he is right up their with Tommy Sullivan and Rob McGonigal. So sorry for your loss thinking about you all at this very difficult time. Cherish all the good times and memories this will help with the days ahead. No one can take all the great memories away. It was a pleasure to have met Bruce. RIP Bruce...Scott, Paula, Mathew and Melissa....

It was fitting that I learned of Bruce's passing while I was in Quebec City at the International PeeWee tournament.
I had a chance to tell the players on the NWT team about Bruce and how important he was to our community through his work in hockey. I told them what both I and my children had learned from him, dedication, dependability, caring and respect. They listened and looked at their adult volunteers with a renewed respect.
I think Bruce was more than hockey. His attitude and dedication to the larger community of McNab/Braeside, Arnprior, West Carleton and Pakenham made us all better in some small ways.
Rest in Peace Bruce.

To the entire Armsden family. The town of Arnprior, has lost a wonderful man, you have lost a wonderful husband, father and grandfather.
Its funny, I was parked in front of Jims today and looked for his car even though I knew it wouldn't be there.
My daughter Nathalie (who I named after Nathalie Bruce because Bruce told me too :) always said the time at your family gatherings was so wonderful.
You have a very close family, and that is going to be what will get you thru this very sad time.
Take care of each other and remember all of those gatherings!

It's a very sad week for all hockey families. For me, Bruce was my hero and all dads to all hockey players and us referees especially me. Before teams had trainers and we as referees were in charged back in the eighties for all injuries. When a player was injured badly, and I was on the ice.....I don't remember once he was not there at the rink.....look up from the young injured player at the glass, and he was always there.....hopped on the ice to help me every time. Bruce was very involve in Junior B hockey, but was actually involve in all levels. The community lost a hero. Gert and your family, my condolences.

My condolences to the entire Armsden family. Bruce and I go way back. No matter whether you were a hockey parent, a hockey player, or a hockey fan growing up in Arnprior, you knew who Bruce was........and you knew where to find him. He was the Arnprior Packers and he will be greatly missed by both the Arnprior community and the hockey fraternity. I was a big fan of Bruce who did what he loved to do for so long with great integrity and devotion. I will miss seeing you around town when I'm home for a visit, sharing hockey stories and experiences. RIP Bruce.

My prayers and condolences to Bruce's entire family. A great man has just left us! Bruce did so much for everyone. He was a great support for all hockey in Arnprior. He was so good to our Women's team in the eighties when I started the team and in the nineties as we continued to grow. And I know he was a great help to the Junior girls as well. He always made sure we had the equipment that we needed and always made sure that our sweaters were in order. He never let us do without. He was so proud of the Arnprior Area, Braeside and McNab! He truly was such a caring man and will be greatly missed by the entire town. Bruce has left an amazing legacy to his family. We are so honoured to have had him for so long. Jennifer

What can I say about Bruce? probably a short story would be needed to cover all the fond memories I have of Bruce. From our times when I played as an Arnprior Junior b packer, to the times my boys were involved, Bruce was always there to support us in every way he could. Either with some tape, stick or even first aid when you got injuried but mostly for just being there to chat with and share stories about anything we wanted to discuss. I sure will miss him. He was a great man who truly cared about the kids. May he rest in peace till our paths cross again. Condolences to Gert, and all the family from Mark, Rhonda, Vincent, Neil and Isaac.
