We met Garry through the vintage car groups. We immediately liked him and he was so gracious in allowing us to admire his collection of old cars and trucks. He offered Elaine a chance to draw a logo for his new build. Unfortunately this will not happen. So sad to have Garry leave us so soon. Our hearts go out to all his family.

My condolences to Garry's family, and heaven just added an auto extraordinaire. So many memories with Garry, in the 70's it was CB radios and helping out around the garage, in the 80's it was all those awesome parties at the garage where I learned to dj at, more parties at the cottage where my bands played to long days and late nights of never ending fun times. He was a dear friend of my family, and my dad and brother just loved him. Garry will be greatly missed in the Arnprior area, so the next time a classic car rumbles around town, just remember Garry will be smiling on down.

We are so sorry for your loss. Garry was always up and ready to help others no matter what the time or weather. He loved his cars and was talented in restoring. I went to school with Garry back in the 1950's - have known him that long. Jon worked with him as well. He was always a character, one who cared and always looked the way he did in the posted photo. Smiling and getting along. Built a great business!
May he find the happiness he deserved at the end of this journey.

Thank you Gary for the honour of painting your two classic cars and your dog statues. I was really looking forward to all the painting jobs you had lined up for me this summer. Hanging out by the water, lunches on the deck and great conversation. I would like your family to know you were nothing but kind and generous. I will never forget your words when you saw my work progressing..."now isn't that something". And Gary "your ride is ready"..."heaven is waiting". Anyone who sees the cars will understand. I am missing you my friend. Many prayers and blessings to your family. Love Bonnie.

To the family. I have known Gary since we were teenagers. Raising pigeons, rabbits, training sled dogs, playing hockey on his backyard rink, swimming at the 1st cottage on the madawaska, working with standardbred horses, learning mechanics at Dad's garage and going to drag races. I share his passion for restoring old cars but he was much better at it than me. He also in earlier days made beautiful lamps. His death was sudden but it sounds like he left this world doing what he liked. Please accept my sincere condolences. Mac Sayle

Garry was a good friend of mine and I will miss him very much. I am so glad that I took him a birthday cake last year and spent the day with him at the Renfrew car show. I have known him since 1982 and we always enjoyed meeting each other at car shows, cruise nights and for coffee. He was a wonderful friend and a great help to many in the community. I will miss seeing his lovely old cars and hearing stories of how he restored them. He was a neighbor of mine on McLean St, I will really miss him. I am so sorry that he had to leave us so soon. I send my love to him and his family. So sorry for your loss.
Please contact me if I can be of any help.

With all of the years we had together, building cars, racing cars and putting 1'st class
show vehicles together, we will all miss him in his wisdom and perfections at what
he did best. He , in his own way's made Arnprior proud of what we could offer in a
small town, that made us all strive for excellence in putting our next automotive
project our own, with his guidance and respect.
We will all miss you, even with your little quirk's You were a big part of Arnprior
and we will really miss your attendance at everything that was important in the
automotive world here and beyond.
May you rest in peace

Garry & I had breakfast Friday morning June 26 at PJ'S . Being car guys we always talked about his projects or cars from the past. He was a very talented and dedicated person to this hobby. An artist in his own way. He has been a customer of our family business, Arnprior & Ottawa Auto Parts, since 1967 but better still a friend for over 45 years. I will miss dropping into his shop to say hello or admire his work in progress .I will miss our Friday breakfast get together or lunch at his home overlooking the Ottawa River. Rest in peace my friend.
Alvan Aumont.
