Obituary of Sophie Grant

Sophie Grant September 13, 1978—January 10, 2013 As a result of a fall on January 5, 2013, Sophie sustained a severe head injury and never regained consciousness. She died on January 10, 2013 at the Ottawa Civic Hospital surrounded by family. Sophie leaves behind many who loved her for her generosity of spirit and zest for life. She is survived by her darling son, Rhys John Rozon aged two years eight months. Parents, John and Linda Grant, brothers Matt (Jen Debenham), Sam (Victoria Legris), her aunts and uncles in England, Carol and Andrew Brain, Antoinette “Dusty” Kimoto, Philip Dowling and predeceased by Raymond Dowling. Cousins, David Brain (Deemple), Clarissa Smith (Michael), Takashi Kimoto (Lucy), Claire Ridout (Corin). Locally, her aunt Rosanna Salter (Robert) and cousins Tim Salter (Tracy), Victoria Salter, Katherine Wilson (Brad) and Meredith Geady (Chris). Second cousins: Kate and Daisy, Olivia and Colin, Ennis and Luke, Joni and Audrey and Sydney. It was Sophie’s wish to donate her organs and the Trillium Organization has been able to confirm that Sophie has helped four families. Visitations at The Boyce Funeral Home Chapel, Visitation and Reception Centre 138 Daniel Street N. Arnprior On Thursday January 17, 2013 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. only. The family will be having a private service at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family would ask that anyone wishing to do so can make a donation in Sophie’s name to the Ottawa Civic Hospital ICU or “in trust” to Sophie’s son Rhys John Rozon.
