Passed away peacefully after a long and courageous battle with cancer at the General Campus of the Ottawa Hospital on May 30, 2010 in her 81st year with her family at her side. Wife of David Hugh McLaren and the late Roy Ballantyne. Predeceased by her son Douglas, Rose will be sadly missed by her twin daughters Jennifer Morris (Bryon) of Petawawa and Jeanette Ballantyne-Sliwowski (Stan) of Pembroke, daughter Darlene Smith (David) of Ottawa and sons Allan (Cheryl) and Alexander of Ottawa. Cherished grandmother of Jenna Morris (Tyler Paris) of Pembroke, Terry Morris of Petawawa, Kasia (Johnathan) Ballantyne-Sliwowski of Pembroke and Alexandra McLaren of Arnprior. Great grandmother of Liila-Leigh Morris and Liam Paris of Pembroke. Roses family wishes to extend profound gratitude to the staff of the 4th and 5th floors of the Ottawa General for their dedication and caring support during her long battle with cancer, a battle in which she refused to concede defeat, continually defied the odds and provided inspiration for all who knew her. A special thank you goes to Dr. FitzGibbon whose magic touch brought joy to Roses heart the family truly is grateful.
Visitation at The
Boyce Funeral Home Ltd Chapel, Visitation and Reception Centre

where friends may pay their respects on Wednesday 2-4 pm, 7-9 pm and after 10: am Thursday June 3, 2010.
A memorial service will be held in the Boyce Chapel at 11: a.m.
Interment will take place at Lakefield Cemetery, Lakefield Ontario on Friday June 4, 2010 at 1: 30 p.m..
In memory of Rose and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Arnprior Humane Society.
