It is with heavy hearts that we announce that James Edward “Jim” Rivett passed away at the Arnprior and District Memorial Hospital Tuesday October 10, 2023 at the age of 79. Beloved husband of the late Beverley Rivett (nee McArton). Proud father of Stephen Rivett (Nicole) of Arnprior and Margaret Murphy (Neil) of Dunrobin. Cherished grandfather of Amber, Taylor, Ethan Charlie, Linden, Delaney, Jessica, Lyal and Carter and great-grandfather of Zadie-May, Bristol-Madison, Colson and Paisley. Dear brother of Doris Brown (late Ted). Predeceased by parents Russell and Dorothy Rivett and sister Margaret Stovka. Jim will be missed by many nieces and nephews.  Jim lived a life marked by diverse passions and steadfast commitment. From his affection for ham radio, hunting, and fishing to his dedicated 29-year tenure as a Volunteer Firefighter with McNab-Braeside, Jim embodied a spirit of commitment and a profound affinity for nature. His welcoming, amiable demeanor and authentic concern for others left an enduring impression on everyone fortunate enough to cross paths with him. Jim’s arrangements have been entrusted to the Boyce Funeral Home Ltd., 138 Daniel Street North, Arnprior. Visitation will be held at the Boyce Funeral Home Ltd, 138 Daniel Street North, Arnprior Friday October 20, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral service in the Boyce Chapel at 11:00 a.m. Reception to follow in the Boyce Reception Centre. Interment Arnprior Albert Street Cemetery. In memory of Jim, a donation may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the Canadian Mental Health Foundation.
