Obituary of Heather Boyce

(nee Streich)

August 7, 1946 – June 6, 2023

(Retired RPN)

Heather Elizabeth Boyce, a compassionate wife, beloved nurse, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully at the Arnprior and District Memorial Hospital on Tuesday morning, June 6, 2023, at the age of 76. She leaves behind a legacy of love, care, and joyful memories that will forever resonate in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her.

Beloved wife of Peter Boyce, their love story spanned an incredible 53 years of unwavering support, shared laughter, and unbreakable love. Together, they built a life filled with cherished memories, weathering the storms of life side by side. Peter was her rock, and their love was an inspiration to all who knew them. Heather's absence will be deeply felt by her uncle Norris Ready (Leslie) and their children Brian and Lynn of Phoenix, Arizona. Heather held a special place in their lives, and she treasured the time spent visiting them, making every moment count.

Born on August 7, 1946, Heather was the daughter of the late Donald and Edythe (Ready) Streich. From a young age, she exhibited a nurturing spirit and a natural inclination towards caring for others. These qualities guided her path towards a fulfilling career as a registered practical nurse, where she dedicated over 30 years of service to the Ottawa Civic Hospital and later the Arnprior Hospital. Heather's commitment to her patients and colleagues was unwavering, and her compassion brought comfort and healing to countless lives throughout her career.

In her leisure time, Heather found solace and joy in the simple pleasures of life. She had a deep appreciation for the cottage lifestyle, spending countless summers surrounded by the beauty of nature and the warm embrace of their beloved neighbours, the Munro Clan. Heather also had a wanderlust for travel, particularly enjoying her adventures in Spain and Portugal, where she embraced new cultures and made memories to treasure.

Heather had a special place in her heart for her beloved fur babies and was mommy to Buttons, Sir Bentley, Buddy, and Beckǐe. They were not just pets; they were cherished members of the family.

Visitation will be held at the Boyce Funeral Home Ltd., 138 Daniel Street North, Arnprior. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Thursday, June 15, 2023, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m., as well as on Friday morning after 9:30 a.m. A Celebration of Heather's Life will take place in the Boyce Chapel on Friday, June 16, 2023, at 11:00 a.m., followed by interment at Arnprior Malloch Road Cemetery. A reception will be held at the Boyce Reception Centre following the service.

In memory of Heather, donations may be made to the Hospice Renfrew.
