Leona B. Milliken

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Leona, surrounded by her loved ones at Arnprior Hospital on August 26, 2026, at the age of 92. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all those who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.
Leona was the daughter of the late Charles Mayhew and Adeline (Lemay). She was one of fourteen siblings and is survived by her remaining siblings, Gerald Mayhew of Sudbury, Effie Stewart of Kanata, and Shirley Gordon of Nova Scotia.
Leona was the beloved wife of the late Elwood Milliken, who passed away on March 2, 1995. Together, they raised a loving family. Leona was a devoted mother to Marie St. Denis (Buzz) of Cobden, John Milliken (Lorrayne) of Braeside, Elliott Milliken (Kirsten) of Arnprior, and Tanya Milliken (Jeff) of Pakenham. She was predeceased by her beloved daughters, Pearl in 2022 and Elaine in 2002.
She was a proud grandmother to ten grandchildren: Jason Diotte (Jean), Erin Diotte (Andy), Andy St. Denis (Jennifer), Julie Brenner (Justin), Janyne Fraser (Rob), Stephen Milliken (Nicole), Adrienne (James), Anthony, Robert, and Matthew Wimperis. Leona was also a loving great-grandmother to 19 great- grandchildren, who brought her immense joy and pride.
Leona will be remembered for her quiet warmth, gentle humour, kind heart, and steady presence. She had a special way of making those around her feel loved, welcomed, and cared for. Her family will forever cherish the countless memories, stories, laughter, and moments shared with her.
Though she will be deeply missed, Leona’s love and memory will live on in the hearts of her family and all who knew her. She leaves behind a beautiful legacy of love that will continue through the generations.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Boyce Funeral Home Ltd., 138 Daniel Street North, Arnprior. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Those wishing to recognize Leona’s memory are invited to donate to the Arnprior Regional Health Foundation.
