Always sad to hear of a parent passing, never easy, but you were lucky to have her for so long.....a blessing. It has been years since I saw your mother grace the slopes at Calabogie, but I remember the elegance of her skiing. An elegant skier and an elegant mother.

My sincere condolences to all of Mrs. Bonell’s family. So many of us have such fond memories of her, as truly ‘one in a million’. I remember Mrs. Bonell as a wonderful mother, and her many interests and talents were inspiring to us neighbourhood kids.. She reached her great age of 100 with all of your love and support. Mrs. Bonell…I could never call her Ethel…made space for everyone when we were kids. I don’t remember ever seeing her flustered or annoyed with any of us as we grew up, and there were plenty of times that could have been the case. So much love to all of the Bonells at this incredibly difficult time. Boy, will she be missed.

Mary and family, please accept my deepest condolences on the loss of your mom and grandmother. What an incredible life and legacy she lived and left for her family. I remember many interactions with her during our years on Harrington Street. She lived a good long life, however, it is still hard to loose our matriarch. To the Bonell Clan: Deeply sorry for Ethel's passing, but I was very glad to hear of her 100'th birthday party you all got to enjoy with her. I am being flooded with memories as I type this; stuffed in the back of the car on many ski days as a kid. Seeing her effortlessly handling your entire rambunctious family swarming about her, along with a few outside ruffians like myself and NEVER getting frustrated, and of course her incredibly smooth skiing ability. If ever the word "nice" was applicable, it was your mom. My favourite story, her skiing Banff age eighty in ill-fitting boots but showing a concerned "youngster" how it was done! RIP, Ethel.

Condolences to all the Bonnell family. We remember dear Ethel from many days spent at Calabogie Peaks where she enjoyed the company of many Ladies who were a major part of Bill Hodgins teaching program for the many children involved in the Skiing in Schools . Also Ethel was a stalwart of what the Ladies called The Loonie Bridge Club. Our dear Beverley always enjoyed the times spent with Ethel , at both the bridge table and at The Peaks.
