Obituary of Thomas Moorhead

Thomas Athol Moorhead

July 20, 1955 – August 7, 2026

After a well lived 71 years, Tom went to be with his Lord and Saviour, Jesus on August 7, 2026, with family and friends by his side. He was lovingly cared for up to his last days in the home in Clay Bank, where he was raised. Tom was the much loved and devoted husband of Beverley Joel and the amazing and adored dad of Clare Moorhead (Tim Moorcroft) and Liam Moorhead.

He was the younger brother of Donna Meek (Robert) and Ed Moorhead (Gail) and the fun-loving uncle of Devon Mallory (Jordan) and Derek Luther Mallory (Chala). Tom was predeceased by his parents Athol Moorhead (1996) and Jean Sword (2011).

Tom will be greatly missed by Bev’s family; her sisters Barb Ireland (late Carl) and Bette Holder (late Paul) and her brother Donald Joel (Helen) and their children.

Tom was a faithful, loving man who enjoyed his family. His sense of humour and wit was legendary. He loved a good bonfire and welcomed all to come and join in.

Retired from Telus, as sound designer/audio and visual project manager, he also worked for other companies over the years including 100 Huntley Street (where he met Bev), and Imagineering (his favourite project being the Jumbotron at the Toronto Skydome).

As an ordained minister, Tom had a real heart for the Church family. He along with Bev pioneered River of Life Christian Fellowship which started in their home in Arnprior, and has now become River Stone Christian Fellowship. Tom was a natural teacher and enjoyed imparting biblical knowledge to help others grow in their faith. With his extensive background in the AV Field, he designed and oversaw the sound system of the church.

Tom was diagnosed with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy in 2020, which took his ability to walk and to speak. Through it all, he never lost his unshakable faith in God, nor his sense of humour.

Tom will be deeply missed by his many cousins, friends, and neigbours who have been a support all these years.

A huge thank you goes out to all of the support workers and his doctors, who have lovingly cared for Tom.

Tom’s arrangements have been entrusted to the Boyce Funeral Home Ltd., 138 Daniel Street N., Arnprior where visitation will be held Friday August 14, 2026 from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.  and 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. The Funeral service will be held Saturday August 15, 2026 at Glad Tidings Pentecostal Church, Arnprior at 12:00 noon. Reception to follow in the church hall. Interment Arnprior Malloch Road Cemetery.

Donations will be gratefully accepted by Love Made Real Ministries at lovemadereal.org or by contacting Bev. (Guatemala mission).
